Looks like you have an issue with your Internet connection.

Get AdAware. Not so fast there. I've used AA for years. I put AdAware on a computer with Vista recently. It ran OK for a while but now AA won't run, uninstall or install. Apparently, according to the number of complaints I've seen, Lavasoft has a problem with later releases of AdAware.

The search engines all closed down yesterday, because everything has been found.

Have you scanned your computer for an exploit virus?

You probably have a browser hijacker. It may be malfunctioning and not redirecting you to one of those idiotic hijack search engines like CoolSearch or somesuch.
Just as some viruses block anti-virus sites like McAfee and Symantec; there are a whole bunch of browser hijackers that hijack your browser whenever you enter the URL for Google or any of the other popular search engines.
Maybe the hacker who wrote the script for the hijacker that has your browser screwed up and it only crashes it...
Run an anti-spyware, anti-adware and anti-virus check and see if it finds anything.

Try running Spy Bot Search and Destroy and be sure your anti-virus program is updated.

Apparently, according to the number of complaints I've seen, Lavasoft has a problem with later releases of AdAware.I'm running the most recent release of AdAware. No problems. But I'm running it on XP; not Vista. Are you sure Vista isn't the cause of your problems?
