Voted NO on federal crime to harm fetus while committing other crimes.
Voted NO on forbidding human cloning for reproduction & medical research.
Voted NO on barring transporting minors to get an abortion.
Voted NO on more prosecution and sentencing for juvenile crime.
Voted NO on allowing school prayer during the War on Terror.
Voted NO on passage of the Bush Administration national energy policy.
Voted NO on implementing Bush-Cheney national energy policy.
Voted NO on requiring lobbyist disclosure of bundled donations.
Voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits about obesity against food providers.
Voted NO on prohibiting product misuse lawsuits on gun manufacturers.
Voted NO on prohibiting suing gunmakers & sellers for gun misuse.

A very good case for all these "no" votes can be made by asking the question, "Is this within the Constitutionally permitted scope of the federal government"?

Conservatives know that there is a big difference between "I don't like X" and "X must be made illegal". It's one of the most important things that differentiates us from liberals.

Forget your sarcasm tag or did you follow the stink from Paul’s words over from DU or Kos? Paul is a dangerous nut job that is loved by Americas enemies.

Monday, and every other day of the week, are state issues since they aren’t mentioned as powers of the federal government...

unless you think it falls under weights and measures...

Yes, the contrast is clear.

COLMES: You answered the question in less than a minute, so it could have happened a few days ago. Let me move on to some other things here, because when the Iran NIE report came out, you said they're undoubtedly intent upon nuclear weapons. You said, I don't care what the latest NIE says, that's foolishness, you said, that represents our inability to get a handle on it, more than anything else.

If you're president, are you not going to care what 16 different intelligence agencies say on any particular issue?

THOMPSON: I'm going to concentrate on improving our intelligence capabilities. As you probably know, I served on the Intelligence Committee. I have met with foreign leaders. And I've met with CIA officers in far away places dealing with questions such as this. We have a real problem with our intelligence community. It's created confusion and inconsistency. We now have a report dealing with one of the most important issues facing our country that's totally inconsistent with one that came out just two years ago.

The Israelis don't believe it. The British don't believe it. They have pretty good intelligence agencies. And we're concentrating on the wrong thing in this report. Whether or not Iran today has a weaponization program is not the important point. The important point is they continue to enrich uranium. That's the most difficult part of the process. Once they have enriched uranium, and it's enriched sufficiently, the weaponization will take a short period of time, and I don't trust the Iranians to make the right decision in the future.

COLMES: The reports show though that they're not nearly as far along as some people thought, and the rhetoric coming out of the administration, which was very close to war mongering, from my point of view, seemed to be discounted by what this report actually said.

THOMPSON: Well, you're not paying close enough attention to what I just said, Alan. To start with, we don't know how far along they are. None of our estimates have ever been precise. None of them have ever pretended to be precise. But the point is that everybody agrees they continue to enrich uranium. And in the future, with a turn of a screw, they could turn it into a weapons program. And it depends on their intent in the future.

That means that we need to continue the policies that we have, of being tough on them and making sure our allies join us in the appropriate kinds of sanctions.

Last time I checked, surrendering isn’t a conservative position.

Not according to cut and run and paulbots. According to them it is the ONLY conservative position.

Sanctions against Iran, Cuba or any nation only hurts U.S. business interests. The rest of the world still trades with them with the resulting benefits.

So you're one of those business folks that things that global trade is a good thing, no matter with whom we trade then? So, trading with people who are dead set on killing you is a good thing? It's not about the BUSINESS trade, it's the principle thereof. Trading with Cuba was banned for a reason. Trading with many of these other countries (based on sanctions against them) is also for a reason.

I made a slight mistake a few days ago when I stated flatly that I'd be voting for whomever the Republican party nominates for President.

Don't worry, I will carry as many states as cut and run will, and I do not even have George Soros and the moveon gang backing me.

there wasn’t any war anywhere before the U.S. started going against the Constitution and sending evil imperial robots out to conquer the universe. Have I slipped over into the comic books again or am I in RonPaulLand?

Evil Imperial Robots!!! RonPaulLand is fun!

----------------

Ron Paul rebels: Cheney is building a "Death Blimp"

U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney has begun construction on a new weapon destined to be the most powerful yet in the American Empire, Ron Paul rebels said today.

The new weapon has been codenamed the "Death Blimp" according to documents captured by the Paul rebels. The documents were intercepted in an e-mail as it passed through the Internet, home to the Paul rebel base.

Lord Rothschild of the Bilderberg group ordered Cheney to begin construction of the massive war machine, rebel spies reported. Ostensibly it is to be used in an upcoming war with Iran, but the Paul rebels fear that the Death Blimp could be used to destroy the rebel fleet, which currently consists of a single rented dirigible. The Empire's new Death Blimp will be at least 25 times the size of the Ron Paul blimp, which is currently patrolling the Eastern coast of the United States on a diplomatic mission.

Some Paul supporters doubt that a blimp that large will be able to fly. "It will go down like a lead zeppelin," remarked Keith Entwistle, a Paul supporter.

But other Paul supporters are preparing for the worst. Hal Jawarski, a Paul volunteer, shovels coal in boiler room one aboard the Ron Paul blimp. He was asked if the Paul blimp could outrun the Death Blimp if required.

"We've outrun large hot-air balloons, not the local hot-air jubilee event balloons, mind you," Jawarski bragged. "I'm talking about the big, corporate-sponsored balloons. She's fast enough."

But the coal and steam powered Ron Paul blimp may not be fast enough to stay ahead of the Death Blimp after all, airship experts say, because the quality of the fuel source also needs to be considered. The Paul blimp burns coal to propel itself, whereas information about the Death Blimp shows that it will use faster burning Federal Reserve dollars--a virtually inexhaustible source of fuel that can be stored in the Death Blimp's massive cargo hold areas. The Federal Reserve dollars will also allow the Death Blimp to inflate much faster than the Paul blimp.

"Well, that's the trick, isn't it?" Jawarski asked after learning of the Death Blimp's fuel source. "And it's going to cost us something extra. We'll have to ask the Paul donors for more blimp money so we can make the jump to high speed."

However, some Paul rebels aren't too worried about the future. They say that even if the Death Blimp survives its solo flight, any use of the Death Blimp against the rebel fleet probably won't occur until after the bombing of Iran.

"Cheney won't be able to bomb Iran on schedule," one Paul rebel predicts. "The public's enthusiasm for the Empire's war plans is lukewarm at best, so we think the Iran attack will be de-Leia'd."

Ron Paul’s supporters are running around slapping campaign bumper stickers on cars in parking lots. They’re also conducting similar vandalistic attacks to promote their candidate.

How do I know? I came out from a shopping mall this weekend to see that my truck (which carries no bumper stickers whatsoever) had had a Ron Paul sticker slapped on the back. And when I was driving down 75 in Dallas later on Saturday, I noticed that the Paulians had constructed a guerilla banner and had illegally hung it off the Park Lane overpass (facing and over the southbound lanes) using weighted bags to keep it from flapping.

I wasn’t ever going to vote for Paul, having met the man twice, but this is ridiculous. This is vandalism and potential personal injury (should the weighted bags fall off).

Ron Paul is the ONLY conservative running in 2008.

Has he ever referred to himself as a conservative? It's just an odd comment for a candidate that has the highest liberal ratings of all the Republican candidates.
