Proof Hucakbee is lying about the moving cross

"THE TODAY SHOW"

MEREDITH VIEIRA: Let's talk about this Christmas ad, because it comes after you have taken some hits from the critics, first for calling yourself a Christian leader, then for questioning whether Mormons believe Christ and the devil were brothers, something you did apologize for.

Now in this ad you are say people should be celebrating the birth of Christ while the shape of a cross appears to take shape behind you. And that has led some to say that this is another overt religious appeal to voters. What do you say about this ad and about those criticisms?

MIKE HUCKABEE: That floating cross is a bookshelf, Meredith. We were all amused -- the production crew I think probably more than anyone, who put the spot together.

VIEIRA: So you didn't see that image when you put the spot together, that it might be confused?

HUCKABEE: Absolutely not.

These are movie camera "tracking dollies."

There are two reasons to use tracking dollies when directing a film. The most basic use is when following a moving subject and keeping them in the same plane. The classic use is to follow a walking actor in profile.

The other use of the tracking dolly is to move the background in a controlled way, while keeping the foreground subject in one place by simultaneiously tracking and panning the camera.

That is how the Huckabee team contrived and executed the shot, in order to move the glowing white (spotlighted) shelf/cross from the left side of the shot to behind Huckabee's head, in exactly the 30 seconds of the ad.

The use of the tracking dolly is the smoking gun, the proof that the moving cross effect was deliberate, and that Huckabee is lying about it being an unnoticed coincidence.

They didn't just come out and "find" that a tracking dolly had magically appeared on the set, and decide, "Aw shucks, why don't we stick the camera on this here funny contraption, and slide it from left to right while aiming at Mike's head, just for the heck of it."

Every aspect of this political advertisement was deliberate, down to the placement of the three ornaments on the glowing white spotlighted empty shelf.

The proof that the moving cross effect was deliberate, is the use of the tracking dolly to move the cross in the background in a perfectly controlled way.

Uhhh, Who cares? Libs will hate him for the cross.... Libs will hate him for being Christian, Libnut will hate him for breathing their air..... MSM are libnuts with a microphone....Why should conservative care?

Because he's stupid and easily lead. Which explains why he thinks we're too stupid to know what we've seen and easily lead because he doesn't have the courage to admit that he created a cross in his message at Christmas time.

After I heard Huckster’s denial, I noticed the camera panning the shot and I thought to myself, “what other purpose is there to pan the shot the way he did?” Then I noticed that the set is essentially dark and he is lit up and the bookshelf is lit up. For what purpose, other than to create the cross? There certainly isn’t a reason to light up a bookshelf, as he disingenuously claims. Creating the image of a cross at Christmas time certainly isn’t a crime, but lying about it and proving that it was indeed a manipulative act is.

One more freeper "gets it." Thank goodness not everyone is being snowed by this modern-day Elmer Gantry.

He doesn't scream fire and brimstone, instead he preaches folksy charm. But he's just as big a fake and a liar as any Elmer Gantry, and just as dangerous if he should become President.

"My father...."

Oh PUHLEEZE, I am certain your father was a great man of high integrity, and perhaps he was one of only a small handful of public servants in American history who has never lied, ever.
But a rare exception to the rule is not really relevant to this discussion.

If we judge our candidates based upon whether or not they’ve lied, I don’t think we’d have much of a field left to choose from. Did Huckabee lie? Who knows. Maybe he felt that if he showed an actual cross behind him, his critics would go ballistic. Or maybe this whole thing is a gross over-reaction from anti-Huckabees. Whatever the case, They’ve all lied at one time or another. Should we throw all of them out because of it?

There was a lot of wisdom in the great comedian George Burns.

"Contrived or not, its a hard sell to say he is lying about a cross, when its NOT A CROSS."

Oh. Wow. Now that is spin.

I agree. I don’t have a problem with the cross. I do have a problem with him lying about it. I don’t trust Huckabee.

Haven’t you been listening? Huck says it isn’t a cross.
Keep repeating.....

It’s not a cross...It’s not a cross...It’s not a cross...open the borders....It’s not a cross...It’s not a cross.

WHO CARES if there was a cross? Geez. Only idiots and liberals and muslims whine about that.

A Nixon or a Clinton lying doesn't bother me nearly as much as a so-called preacher lying about using the very CROSS.

If a preacher can lie about the cross, he will lie about ANYTHING, and make a lot of rubes and fools believe him, simply because they can't believe a "man of the gospel" would ever lie.

"Whoever filmed that knew they had a cross in the background. Any photographer or filmographer worth his salt looks for things like that through the viewfinder.

I don’t have a big problem with it. My problem is with the denials."

Thank you.

'Tis a shame The Huckster is such a Huckster - he's in favor of the Fair Tax. I really wanted to give the guy a fair chance, and when I started doing some research on the guy I found what a Huckster he is.

What did I expect from some guy from Hope, Arkansas?

I agree that the problem here is the apparent lie.

I say “apparent” because I suppose its possible that he didn’t know that the “cross effect” was deliberate, and that one or more of the production crew knew but didn’t tell him it was deliberate, despite the fact that some of them “laughed” about it with him.

But he’s lying about it. Insulting the intelligence of everyone who hears his denials. Exploiting the unintelligence of some.

Bingo. That's a Clinton technique.

Perhaps there's something in the water in Arkansas.

Wow. He really did lose weight. He wants to enforce good health in America as President. I hope he enforced it with his two boys.

He's only for the Fair Tax as a red herring, because it helps to defuse his rep as "Tax Hike Mike" back in Arkansas.

It's like his bogus "conversion" on illegal immigration. It's a head fake.

He lost a ton of weight by having 90% of his intestines chopped out and bypassed.

He didn’t suddenly become Mr. Health and Fitness.
