‘Are you in Iowa? Both Hunter and Fred will be lucky to make it past Iowa...in Fred’s case he’s running low on money and needs our help.’

Yep, its all or nothing for both Thompson and Hunter on the Right, Edwards on the Left.

I don’t see any of them surviving without winning Iowa, or in Edwards case at least finishing second.

"Conservatives who meet Romney endorse him. The DNC has attacked him more than any other candidate." The DNC does not want to run against Romney.

“What are they going to say when Thompson and Hunter endorse Mitt?”

They are going to call them Rinos.

Like Bork. And Michael Novak. And the National Review.

Well, after watching his behavior as governor for the last few years, he won't be getting my vote.

He's not a conservative.

[“He has a solid record that matches his rhetoric,” said Tancredo, who turned 62 yesterday.]

One Word: Romneycare

Two Words: Lifetime NRA

Three Words: I’m Pro Choice

Well yes, that is a solid record that matches weasel rhetoric.

We’re talking about Home Depot, Lowes, etc - not necessarily contractors making bids. Yes they are just as liable but be serious here, what company is going to tell you that they are hiring illegals? Your statement is just impractical. Further, I’m not sure anyone wants to live in a country where an employer just hands over an employee’s personal records to any hothead who thinks they have some sort of right to inspect anything they don’t like or suspect based on what? It’s just one of those issues I really think has to be thought through. Where does it end? Do I get to see their medical records? To assure they aren’t using drugs? Their legal records? Maybe they had DUIs and I don’t want drunks on the job. Or how about their political affiliations? I don’t want to support people who vote for Hillary? Anyone who just says “that’s a lie” on a website without really knowing about the situation has lost a lot of credibility with me.

Just curious why you leave out Thompson, his wife Jeri and their two cute kids?

“Anyone who just says “that’s a lie” on a website without really knowing about the situation has lost a lot of credibility with me.”

That is a lie that has been answered many times here at FR, you better ID all workmen that come to your home, and before you let a contractor bid on a job tell them during the initial phone call that no strangers enter your property.

Let any potential bidder know that any men sent to your home better have some legitimate ID, even more ID than they have to show the bouncer to get into a bar.

I am a Southern California contractor that is trying to get guys like you to quit spreading this lie that homeowners are forbidden to ID anyone that wants to enter their property.

OK good luck to you then. It’s hard enough to get any contractors to do “small jobs” especially when the economy is good. I can just see checking identification at the door as you suggest. Hah! I do as much work myself as I can now and screw the contractors for just this reason. I understand your goal but attacking the homeowner I think won’t serve you well... especially people like me who are on your side on the immigration issue.

LOL. T flip flopper? The political weather vane to everything necessary to win? Surely I missed the sarcasm tag.

Exactly. My opinion of Tancredo went way up. He’s not just a one trick pony. He gets it. He is serious about nominating someone who can win and get the job done. It seems he may have even reviewed the actual records of those in the top tier and noticed that Romney has the best record on this issue - and the best chance to win. Imagine that.

I am so frustrated that everyone is writing Fred off! Argh! I keep donating but what else can one do???? Oh, and I’ve got my Fred hat (on my kid) and my FRED bumpersticker.

I think he needs to come in a strong 3rd in Iowa to stay in the race, and do VERY well in SC.

I keep donating also...again this morning after seeing an article that he is out of money. It’s crazy...the best candidate and everyone is going nuts over what Fred called a “pro-life liberal” Huckabee. ARRGH! I’m just trying to keep the faith.

We are on different sides of the illegal immigration issue, I am trying to stop it.

Instructing the homeowner to know who is on his property is a wise and practical thing to do.

Get involved a little bit, protect your family and material goods, taking charge of who you hire around your home is the least an American can do.

However, if I were to take your advice and since you are so liberal about giving advice on this homeowner matter... what kind of identification do I ask for? A driver’s license? Do I take any state or just states that I know don’t hand them out to any body? Am I supposed to assure some how that the identification isn’t forged (it’s easy to buy laminators now)? What other forms of ID are there? Do you support a national identification card? That’s where we’re headed and the only way I can see to get where you want to go.

The very first thing that you do if you are anti-illegal immigration, is to stop the sneering attitude.

Your attitude and efforts to counter my advice is the proof of where you stand on this issue.

Keeping yourself from putting illegal aliens to work at your home is not brain surgery, it simply takes a little honest desire on your part.

I know that you can pull it off, once you put your mind to it.

I’m the one with a sneering attitude? Please sir, get real and be more helpful. You are the one talking about lies. You are the one inferring that I don’t want to stop illegal immigration. You are the one implying I’m not doing my part as an American. Now get off your high moral horse and help homeowners out here since you are so passionate about this issue otherwise people like me will just ignore you as another blowhard that just likes to tell other people how to run their lives. That’s what I meant when I said that we need to be practical here. Answer my questions about the identification. Don’t just say “get involved”... how do I do this? What kind of ID do I ask for? Are drivers licenses sufficient? Do we need a national identity card to beat this problem. How else can I assure that everyone who works on my house is legally here? The devil is in the details and just because I anticipate the details doesn’t mean that I think nothing should be done. I’ve tried very hard to treat you with a little respect but my patience is waning.

Choose wisely:

Excerpt:
Now, here is where my plea for Mormons to simply tell the truth comes in. This is America. You can believe anything you want.

If you want to believe that God was once a human being, that Jesus was his physical son, that you can become a God yourself, that Jesus and Satan were brothers, you can certainly do so.

But tell the truth! If you believe it, be proud of it—don’t try to hide it.
