Calling for new tone on immigration debate.
The United Methodist Portal ^ | Dec 31, 2007 | Arthur McClanahan

DES MOINES, Iowa—Members of the Iowa Interfaith Immigration Coalition are urging presidential candidates of both parties to conduct the debate over immigration policy in a civil manner “that respects human dignity.”

In a Dec. 4 news conference, Connie Ryan Terrell, executive director of The Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, led a group of speakers who gathered to “change the negative, public attitudes and rhetoric which demonize and dehumanize our immigrant friends and neighbors.”

Ms. Terrell said this “destructive attitude has permeated our nation,” making the discussion about immigration a more “complex and difficult debate.”

In a four-week period, more than 3,600 signatures from across the state of Iowa were gathered on a “Creating a Welcoming State” petition, the group said at the news conference.

The petition states, “We pledge ourselves as people of faith and goodwill to stand with our immigrant neighbors who have come to the United States from throughout the world. Recognizing the moral imperative to welcome the stranger in our midst, we commit ourselves to support laws that affirm their dignity, preserve their families, and acknowledge the value of their presence among us.”

In other words, the "debate" is not going her way.

Good!

A very effective way to deal with things like this would be to go to their events and publicly point out how they’re lying. I’m not suggesting engaging in a rant, only pointing out their lies in public. And, upload the exchange to a video sharing site. Without credibility no one is going to take what they say seriously. And, that will send a message to the others, like Wallis and Mahony.

It’s not about human dignity.

It’s about RESPECTING our LAWS and the bigger issue of United States Sovereignty vs. a globalist welfare state.

Exactly.

Get one guy (or gal) who is a good public orator and is not easily intimidated or flappable --and practice the script like crazy, then someone else who is good with the video cam, to go in and sit close...walk in separate and do not acknowledge each other. Kick things off in a "question from the floor". They will become unglued or otherwise make a misstep. Video the entire spicy interchange and then "YouTube it" and embarrass their asses off. Yes! Citizen activism. It can be done.

"Calling for a new tone on immigration" is simply liberalspeak for:

"Back Off! Let Up! You've got us on the ropes! Please! Stop it! Have mercy on us! You are beating us to a pulp! Surely we can work this out and discuss it civilly. Mommy! Tell him to quit it!"

The fact is, they have read the poll numbers, they know they are getting their asses kicked nationwide on the issue of illegal immigration as the sleeping giant in America has awoken, and also in states and localities that are taking potent and direct legal and administrative actions on anti-illegal aliens, one by one. They know soon they will be completely routed. So they publish this crap. Sheesh, call the "Whaaaaamubulance"!

I say "GOOD". It shows we are winning.

Same in Virginia. A group calling itself “Reston Interfaith” was involved in the Herndon day laborer center debacle.

That organization is a classic example of what Michael Savage refers to as THE ENEMY WITHIN. I just checked out their website. Usual treasonous pablum.

You never see Mexicans who look European come across. They are always campesinos with a very mestizo heritage and look. Mexico is exporting their race problem.

"I knew this thread would blow gaskets but I had no idea how hard and how fast."

Really?

You might try asking your neighbors what they think once in a while.

Human dignity?

Ask any of the construction workers in my area that can't find work/feed their families since the illegals took over about human dignity.

I'm sure they will tell you all about it.

I doubt that

I don't. The "Interfaith" shuck-and-jive bit started here in California decades ago and shows up in places like Arizona with Robin Hoover and his so-called church which looks remarkably like just another Maoist cell.

The whole idea of using labels like that is a con-job to gull the gullible and get a little unassailable cover for the serious business of Bolshevising the U.S.

Do your own websearch on "interfaith" and "immigration". Tell me what kind of organizations you come up with. Tell me about the links they have. Ever hear of the contractions NLG, NIF, or perhaps the Political Ecology Group?

All of them hide behind the skirts of left leaning churches, but they aren't God fearing people. They're stone Communists, hard eyed thugs who use any means possible to seize power and property.

The church ladies are just this generation's Useful Idiots, and will be expendable should their Marxist buddies ever win.

What immigration debate?

I thought we were concerned about illegals committing crimes and escaping to foreign countries when it looked like they might get caught.

The candidates of the Democratic Party oppose the construction of the border fence and have, for the most part been unwilling to talk about the national security implications of immigration.

Mike, the Secure Fence Act of 2006 was passed by the Senate 80-19. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Chris Dodd approved the bill. We know it was political cover, but the MSM have failed to ask them about it.

Are you sure that line isn’t from High Plains Drifter? I don’t recall a Preacher in Josey Wales but I do remember one from HPD. It’s a good line anyway.

Yep, that's from High Plains Drifter, right after the residents of the hotel are tossed out on the street.

There's at least one applicable quote from Josey Wales, too:

"It is sad that governments are chiefed by the double-tongues".

"We pledge ourselves . . . ."

Does this mean they will acknowledge that our objections are to ILLEGAL aliens and not immigration? They're gonna stop calling us bigots, racists, xenophobes?

Wot?

Oh.. we have to stop opposing "undocumented workers." I see. We have to forget our Nation of laws, not men. I really do see.

Do you know Obama pimps the illegal aliens- even with the fact that they bring in more violent crime into the U.S, as well as cost us billions in tax dollars to care for them and their offspring?

Obama said the recent Senate immigration debate “was both ugly and racist in a way we haven’t see since poststhe struggle for civil rights.”...

Obama told La Raza that the mass protests lately of for immigration rights of Mexicans is equal in greatness to the civil rights protest of the past.

Omama supports La Raza’s, the “DREAM Act,” which would mandate states to offer in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens — thus providing them with benefits not available to U.S. citizens from other states.

Listen to that SOB! When we’re paying billions to support illegals!! He’s got ‘em yelling, ‘Obama! Obama! (La Raza is a militant Mexican illegal alien rights group)
