Obviously courtesy is not one of your strong points. It doesn’t matter, it has been removed from the SC topic.

I like Fred - wish he were a little more energized in his approach. I think how we got W and couldn’t imagine what would have happened had Gore gotten elected so I do believe in devine intervention and feel good about the election. I do hope we run against Chillery and not Obama. I worry people being stupid would vote for color to appease their guilt and yet he is just a flowery speaker with no substance. To me he just spouts cliches. Go Fred!

Fred and Jeri were on Fox this morning! They were great! When Fred was asked about Huckabee being ahead of him in the polls in SC, Fred said “Well, I think those polls are kinda like the polls in New Hampshire showing an Obama win over Hillary.” He was great as usual! I donated another $50 to the red truck today and looking forward to tonight’s debate on FOX at 9:00PM Eastern! The REAL CONSERVATIVE will shine through again! GO FRED!

Anyone know where the NRA endorsement is?? If I were an NRA member I would be emailing them often to ask when they are going to endorse Fred Thompson!

Take another look at your tagline.

I am very cognizant of my fallibility, sinfulness, and other limitations

Yep, that's my tagline.

Ah! I saw the SCU and jumped at it.

Now we see why it is my tag line and not yours.

LOL. That’s because people like you do not have very good principles, huh?

if you did, you’d not be trolling with smart assed cracks like that and you’d actually VOTE for a man with principles. Instead all you crackpots have to come into a thread and make crackpot comments.

South Carolina is home to the most crucial primary election so far...perhaps those Freepers in South Carolina would like to have information to make their cases to other voters about their candidates.

Reports from those doing phone calls for Fred (myself included) show many South Carolina Republicans are not aware of Thompson’s stand on many issues. Free Republic is an alternative to the Mainstream Media.

Was it that difficult to sort through the South Carolina topics? You probably went to more effort to have it removed than to look through the topics.

I did not know there was a petty Homeowner’s Association on Free Republic. Well, you showed me, didn’t you?

Bump for Fred!

I'd rather be waterboarded than vote for John McCain.

Hasn’t had much of a chance to proved or disproved yet. One election and one sort-of-election.

It’s obvious to me that the powers-that-be, especially the MSM, are desperate to abort his run before he can make it.

A lot of people really fear him, and the more you hear about why he should not run, let alone WIN, the more you know why he has to be he man!

My dad used to point out that bullying is born of envy and that those who bully are trying to compensate for their feeling that they are somehow inadequate compared to the victim. Same with politics!

Ronald Reagan won a resounding 44-state victory in 1980. In 1984, he won a 49-state landslide. Remember, all this occurred before there was a FOXNews, the World Wide Web, or talk radio to keep people informed. Reagan’s message reached the American people — and he reached them right over the heads of an entrenched liberal media establishment.

How did he manage this? As Heritage President Ed Feulner summarizes:

“Ronald Reagan secured victory because he spoke powerfully to the American people about conservative principles — which he would not compromise! He spoke of our Founding Fathers and promised to return government to the people. And he did. He captured the hearts and minds and spirits of the American people. And through his presidency, he governed by conservative principles. Not compromising. Not giving in to pressure. Never allowing the media to dictate his day or his policy.”

In my mind I think it’s great for Fred to sit on the sidelines and watch the others spend millions and millions of dollars destroying each other! Let ‘em use all their ammunition shooting at each other. Right now the only damage being done to Fred is by the MSM and I think they understand that they don’t have to worry about the others right now, one of them will take care of the rest of them in several months of knock-down, drag-out, no-holds-barred campaigning.

Keep your powder dry Fred! You won’t need much if the rest of them have used all their powder on each other!

He also had the benefit of worldwide name recognition, and five decades of political activism, the blessing of almost every conservative of note. And Hollywood backed him Big Time.

I believe that despite its record the US still has lots and lots of conservative people of faith who are joining you and me in our prayers for Fred. And I firmly believe the same thing that gave us the Gipper at the right time and W to handle 9/11 will give us the right person next time it’s needed. When you examine the history of our great country you see that time and again people came from like out of nowhere to serve when they were needed. In my world that’s the hand of God at work and if a prophet of old could negotiate Him down to finding a single good person to save an entire country then our prayers are do not go unheeded.

I like Fred Thompson, but even Reagan couldn’t overcome the lead Thompson has given the opposition, this late. Just my opinion, and I’d love to be wrong about it.

It's a much different campaign now. Huckabee is bound to crash and burn. Mitt has to spend a fortune in each primary. Guiliani isn't a favorite in the South. McCain has become an elitist and is wrong-headed on conservative issues. I wouldn't count out Fred yet. Did you read his white paper on immigration? Here it is:

I’ve seen the ‘white paper’ and I like it, same as I like Fred, or Duncan Hunter for that matter.

But he’s not going to win the nomination, not now. He had a small window of opportunity, and plenty of us were right outside it waiting...but night fell, and we had to get some sleep, so we couldn’t keep waiting...ya know?

I wish it was otherwise, but he took this ‘walking for President’ too far.

My 13-year-old son and my 14-year-old daughter did a quiz that labeled them both:

Libertarian, radical-leaning, free-marketers.

I actually scored libertarian, radical-leaning, anarcho-capitalist!

http://www.neo-libertarian.com/polquiz.html

They’re both for Fred, and have followed politics from a very young age (Boortz and Limbaugh in the car to and from school).

Now I just have to work on the 5-year-old twins!

Here's Thompson's white paper on immigration. It utilizes border security, witholding tax deductions from employers that hire illegals, and self deportation. It emphasises attrition through creating a very uncomfortable environment for illegals that stay in the U.S. If word of this spreads, it should definitely help Fred in the South.

http://www.fred08.com/virtual/Immigration.aspx

Thompson is the only candidate with ideas that can work and are workable.

People use the topics because they wish to read about a particular subject. They don't want to read through an entire article (and it's link if it is excerpted) just to find out it has nothing at all do with the topic and that they have been sent on a wild goose chase.

The topic lists were not created so that you could choose an audience in which to advertise you candidate to. They were created so that people interested in a particular subject could easily find articles that are relative to that subject.

I was very polite in my posts to you and even suggested another way in which you might get your message out to South Carolinians without abusing the topics lists. But all I have received from you is scorn.

Listen, I do live in South Carolina and I am one of those you seek to get to vote your way. But such a contemptuous attitude isn’t going to persuade me nor anyone else.

If you wish for Fred to win, I suggest you go and take you winning personality and stump for Huckabee. I am sure you will get many more Fred votes that way.

Anyone wishing to reply to this post, I ask kindly that you do it by FReepmail. I never intended to disrupt this thread and will not do so any longer. Thanks.

My four year old is hysterically funny. I got my husband “Help, Mom, There’s a Liberal Under the Bed” as a gag gift for Christmas when she was two.

She LOVED that book. She called it “The Liberal Book”. She slept with it. Her favorite insult was “You liberal!!”
