He didn’t engage in sex though. Maybe he was going to go rent a hotel room. Merely propositioning someone should not be a crime. Else a lot of fern-bar patrons are going to go to jail.
Right, but look what the ACLU is saying...

“In an effort to help Sen. Larry Craig, the American Civil Liberties Union is arguing that people who have sex in public bathrooms have an expectation of privacy.”
Really?!?!?
You’re right. A proposition (not involving money or a minor) is perfectly legal.
Where my problem with Craig comes is that he’s one of those Congressmen who think gay marriage is the most horrible thing in the world and a threat to the sanctity of marriage. Yet, his own actions are the biggest threat to his marriage, not gays.
Same with my Senator, David Vitter. He was quoted as saying gay marriage is the most important issue of our time.
Now, I’m not a gay marriage proponent, but I can easily list 8-10 things that are much more important to our country right now. And Vitter’s another one. Gay marriage wasn’t a threat to his marriage, but rather, his own infidelity.
