Sen. John McCain won Saturday's South Carolina Republican presidential primary, AP projects.

Fox News and NBC News exit polls ranked the economy as the top concern among South Carolina primary voters, followed by illegal immigration, the war in Iraq, and terrorism.

Columnist and Weekly Standard Editor William Kristol commenting on Saturday's results on the Fox News Channel said that the Republican field is now winnowing down to just three viable candidates: McCain, Mitt Romney, and Rudy Giuliani.

Sorry but you are wrong.Fred won the true Southern conservative vote in SC.
Screw yankeewannabee Florida, the other states of the old CSA will take Fred to victory and the tenor of his voice during his speach a few hours ago confirmed that he knew this all along.
McCain and Huck go no further after today and Mitt is in for the fight of his life.
No spin—just fact—I KNOW my South.
AND the South picks the GOP nominee!

I’m from SC — and NO you don’t. SC doesn’t register by party, snd one is free to vote in either party primary (but not both).

Of course, Democrats in SC and elsewhere can find a way around that little technicality I’m sure.

Yeah, I think McCain got the votes Romney would have got if he, Romney spent any time or money in South Carolina.

McCain = RINO

It is like choosing between a sh#t sandwich and sh#t soup. I would rather stay home. And millions will do the same.

>Hey, it’s just as bad as Ron Paul finishing second in Nevada. Turns your stomach, doesn’t it?<

Well, I was disappointed that he didn’t finish first but second’s not bad :)

And if the choice is between McCain and Clinton or McCain or Obama who would you vote for?

If McCain chooses Huckabee or that little fairy, Lindsey Graham, I would not vote.

McShamnesty is the one candidate that can unite Conservatives against the GOP. The GOP better choose wisely.

The fact McCain was on touring the state with Lyndsay Graham is simply baffling. I had hoped the people of SC would rise up against both of these IA coddling turds.

LOL

Reliable sources are reporting that South Carolina Republicans were over exposed to amounts of heavy smoke and mirrors from Media Darling candidates McCain and Huckabee.

With the tight contest in the rat primaries, the approaching contests won’t have nearly as many rat crossover votes helping McCain.

McCain won it in the lowcountry, an area entrenched with old Dixiecrats and retired military.

No Conservative should ever consider voting for McCain.

I'm willing to lay money down that says, IF Thompson drops out he throws his support behind McCain.

(but then again I am predicting a McCain/Thompson ticket)

I think that the media support McCain and Huckabee, because they think Hillary can defeat them easily.
