This is January. A lot can happen by July. Keep your powder dry.

I'd like to optimistic, but I am not.

The "Stupid Party" is foisting RINOs and liberal Republicans before us.

Get used to saying "President Clinton" again.

I too like Fred and really loved Hunter and believed he was the only true conservative in the race.
But the populace has become vain and a third party conservative, not just another rino, is necessary for conservatives to have a representative in government.

I’m guess I’m more stubborn than optimistic. I just figure if it’s gonna happen, it will NOT be because *I* lay down & rolled over!

Here in the winter of discontent, our fortunes sank to the lowest point. But from this place, Washington went forth conquering, and to conquer, and to become the foremost man of all the world.
“At Valley Forge,”
speech by Speaker of the House Champ Clark, circa 1918-20.

I think you’ll appreciate this.

First Thompson is the ‘only’ Reagan.

Now he’s Washington.

Before long, he’ll be Jesus Christ.

FredHeads don’t support FDT; they worship him.

I’d estimate 70% chance your right. Without Fred, our group of candidates are the worst ever. It makes you wonder if the RNC has already conceded the election to Clinton.

You want so badly to find some controversy that you come up with crap like that? You are pitiable in your smallness. I’m sorry that you have no ability to see an attempt to rally supporters as anything but worship. You are small and petty and foolish.

Should you feel the need to reply, know that you will be ignored.

Oh puh_leeeze. Fred just is the only candidate who represents the principles that conservatives believe.

It is either Thompson for me or I will vote “uncommitted” and we will fight at the Convention. I will no longer roll over for the machine or the rinos that think that they run it. The Conservative base is the support for the party... without a base, the house will fall down at the first sign of wind.

I see a group of individuals grasping at straws in an effort to perform CPR on a dead campaign.

Trouble is....

...ALL the straws are short.

Myself and my wife WILL continue to support FRED all the way. We WILL NOT allow ourselves to be defeatist as the defeatism is perpetrated in the form of Leftist/Democrat propaganda by the Leftist bias of the Leftist controlled MSM.

It’s a one sided MSM that we are up against, therefore we must remain all the more true to our own convictions.

I can only speak for myself, but I do not worship any man (or woman, well, maybe my wife). Thompson is the only conservative in the race. Yes, I know he wasn’t a conservative in 1972, but neither was I.

I do not believe that any other Republican currently in the race would get the conservatives motivated to work and vote for him. IOW, anybody else will lose in November, no matter whom the Dems nominate. Republican presidential candidates do not have a very good track record if they do not mobilize the conservative base.

The ability to win in November, which seems to be what motivates Republicans to misguidedly nominate non-conservatives, is only half of the story. Even if Huck or Mac win in November, what would he do after he becomes President? The recent records of Huck and Mac do not reassure me that they will even nominate Constitutionalists as justices, let alone support other conservative causes.

“FredHeads don’t support FDT; they worship him.”

They remind me a little bit of Cubs fans. Any day now Fred will kick it into high gear and then he’ll win this thing. Or if that doesn’t work a brokered convention where Fred will limp in with 5 delegates and no natioanal support and somehow be chosen.

I’ve worked up a scenario that has Thompson winning at a brokered convention. It goes like this.

After the casting of many ballots, there is still no clear first choice, so the candidates retire to a smoky back room to hammer out a deal....McCain and Rudy go ballistic and a melee ensues. During the melee Romney and Hucakabee are killed, then Rudy and McCain turn on each other. This leaves Fred, who missed the melee on account of he had fallen asleep in his chair, as the GOP nominee. I don’t see how this can fail. LOL

Such language of “exclusivity” only supports my point. (ie Fred is the ONLY [choose your preferred quality here])

He isn’t the Lord and Savior people.

I think you’ll appreciate this.

I do indeed. And I don't hero-worship FDT...I merely think he's head-&-shoulders above all the other GOP candidates this year as someone I'd be happy to see in the Oval Office for 4-8 years!

...makes you wonder if the RNC has already conceded the election to Clinton.

If they give us McCain they already have.

Voting for McCain destroys what remains of our sovreignty!

I'd rather be waterboarded than vote for John McCain.

I’ll believe your politicial scenario before I accept the Cubs coming out on top.

You know what we Chicago South Siders consider as the best thing about the North Side? (drumroll)...The ride back.
