Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

I started posting a reply, and while I was posting it, the original, abusive post was deleted.

There is a difference between not jumping on the bandwagon, which I respect, and actively attacking the candidate.

(puts on flame retardant shorts)

Say McCain is the nominee, I think we should hold our noses and vote for him (Hunter was my guy) I certainly think the Conservative wing of the Republican Party would be able to influence him more that it would Obama or Hillary. Congress would be able to hold his feet to the fire better, and I just couldnt turn the Country over to the Dems. Just my .02

“But as a collective group republicans are lame, voiceless and timid.”

There you go again, grouping every Republican together. Please, stop doing that, it doesnt help our cause to fail to distinguish wheat from chaff.
If a person with the “R” does wrong - name them.
If a person with the “R” label does right - name them.
Blaming the whole Republican party wrongly tags the majority of Republicans who are good conservatives.
*I* am a Republican, and I take it personally that you are calling me “lame” and “timid” - when you really mean a subset of them.

As I said, I could go on all day about what good things we got out of good Republicans.

“As for RINO’s ruining the party, I agree. Now, where does that leave us with the choice of candidates now that Fred is gone? RINO City, USA that’s where.”

Obviously none left is a 100% proven conservative. But I think Mitt Romney is a clear step above John McCain on acceptability to conservatives, especially due to McCain’s anesty bill and continued actions of writing liberal bills with Democrats.

WHAT?? Fred Thompson’s dropping out?? Geez, first my candidate Hunter drops, now Fred’s gone too.

Well that’s that then. We’re doomed in 2008.

How it started was your immature response to my post rebuking the lie that Fred was never in it to win it.

It’s actually less than 50%. Closer to 45%, I believe.

I’m not blaming the rank and file voters, I’m blaming the conservatives who actually pay attention. If all the folks who said I really like Hunter, but gee, he probably can’t win, would have instead sent him 50 or 100 bucks, we would not be in this ridiculous place.

Me too. 2008 would’ve been my first election to vote in, looks like I’ll have to wait till 2012. I’d like to be able to vote SOMEtime in my life....

NYC has 70% of the population but only 10% of the land (if even that), concentrated in a piece of land that juts out from the rest of the state. If you ask me, it just doesn’t fit.

Upstate New York has a population comparable to that of North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, Indiana or Arizona. It deserves a say.

Btw, I’m a Romney volunteer here in the NE Florida area. I saw him at a rally Saturday night, and he was awesome.

I heard something today that summed it all up for me - “It’s the economy, stoopid!!!”

It’s Romney all the way, baby.

How it started was your immature response to my post rebuking the lie that Fred was never in it to win it.

Your memory needs jogging pal, did you forget YOUR lie about how quote "Hunter Duncan" wasn't in it to win?

Your gratuitous sneer and smear at Hunter was wholly uncalled for and you ought to know that.

What you received after that was more than deserved.

Go back and read your post if you don't remember it, ok?

Exactly, think about who we’re dealing with here.

It’s taken an enormous effort to undo the damage wrought by Bubba, and Shrillary did her share of damage merely as his ugly wife...

vast right wing conspiracies, FBI-gate, File-gate...

we really want HER to have the keys this time around?

Not to mention being exposed to the insufferable Bubba for 4 more years?

We think these people are bad at re-writing history NOW, just wait!

That’s unfair wrt Rush. I seem to recall the FredHeads gleeful that Rush pointed out how Fred was the only conservative-sounding candidate in the last November debate.

Weakly standard has been in the tank for McCain. Most of the MSM have been Rudy/McCain organs. Then the libs ‘discovered’ Huckster and went ape over him (eg Dick Morris). Conservative media is less important than MSM. And MSM is less important than campaigns.
Fred’s wounds were largely self-inflicted, due to a campaign that never got itself together properly.

the silence over Hunter is disturbing, but Hunter was one of 9 candidates. Not sure they owed Hunter more than they gave Tancredo, Gilmore, Brownback, Romney, etc. which was not much
