The rumor is that Thompson will endorse McCain. I heard it while running around SC protesting McCain events for four days.

Regardless of how some Freepers feel about McCain, Thompson supported McCain’s 2000 run against Bush, so it may not be a far stretch.

Not gonna happen. Theres no way hell accept with McCain. McCain's the first candidate he would hope to offer him a VP slot. They were chums in the Senate (and still are) and they were on the same side of many issues. Among other things, did you know Thompson was a strong supporter of McCain-Feingold?
