"so what? Keep your judgemental crap off this thread and have some respect. Makes me sick."

My goodness...the most judgmental thing I said was that he lost me after Brokeback, which is the simple unvarnished truth, and that his role romanticized the homosexual choice, also true, and as others have said, he actively promoted/dignified in his interviews surrounding the role. I've also said on this thread, that his death, like that of any young person, regardless of their status or fame, is a tragedy...If that's, "judgmental crap" so be it...I guess I'm just a judgmental crapper.

I don't see many ridiculing him. However, many don't respect him much for participating in gay culture.

In a nutshell, that's it.

I have to admit, I don’t think I’ve seen any of his work.

I find nothing funny about this. It’s the culture folks.

TMZ says the deathbed was riddled with pills.

Sad state the US is in.

Guess it's time to slam Anthony Hopkins. /s

I've never seen Anthony Hopkins in any movie where I didn't think he was fantastic. I don't see movies that I'm going to find disgusting, so I don't get a bad impression of actors that I think are good, in the kinds of movies I like. Kwim?

Yeah, no one know why he was there, he had a place in Soho, so they don’t think he was subletting and the celebrity tv people are saying they don’t know why he was there either.

Quite welcome. I frankly cannot believe anyone gives a hoot about a(nother) drugged up Hollyweird type.

There are people on this thread actually defending this morons drug and alcohol induced death. Care to tell me how someone “accidentally” overdoses on pills and alcohol?

Good grief. That's too bad.

Queer cowboy movie aside, this guy was a pretty good actor. We all liked him in 'The Patriot', didn't we?

It’s a mob scene in front of the building, Shortly they will be removing the body. Unless they clear the street it will be insanity on the block.

Per Defamer.com:

On The Scene Of The Heath Ledger Overdose
At ten minutes to 5pm here in New York, only a few news crews had reached the scene of Mary Kate Olsen’s loft building at 421 Broome Street, where Heath Ledger was just found dead. Just a handful of passersby were gawking at the small police presence guarding his door. But by 5, a pack of 15 paparazzi had arrived, acting far calmer than the usual frenzied pap scene, respectfully obeying the NYPD’s orders to stay back. Almost everyone there, reporters both on-air and from various print outlets, collectively believed that the actor committed suicide using sleeping pills; a bottle of prescribed sedatives were allegedly found next to his bed.

If anything it might delay the release, but I doubt even that.

I loved him in Casanova. One of the most underrated movies of the last few years.

Maybe because it was a PG movie that somehow got rated R.
