Rudy Giuliani appears to be pondering an end to his long pursuit of the Republican presidential nomination.

In a meeting in the back of his chartered plane en route to St. Petersburg, Fla., a short while ago, the onetime, longtime GOP front-runner told a small group of reporters, including The Times' Louise Roug: "The winner of Florida will win the nomination."

It’s the ENEMEDIA’s ploy to help McCain win in Florida.
I’m betting the majority of Rudy supporters would go to liberal Democrat lover McCain, than they would to Romney.

All, keep in mind that McCain will gain most all of Rudy’s support.

This may make McCain unstoppable.

I agree. Rudy would probably have done less damage to the conservative cause as the nominee than anyone else in the race will.

Without any actual conservatives left in the race, Rudy withdrawing would be a Pyrrhic victory at best.

" If Hillary loses in '08, will she hang around the Senate that long, or cut-n-run?

She'll stay in the Senate of course. I think she'll be a "Life Time" member. What else has she got do? Hang around her husband? Bubba doesn't want her near him interfering with his affairs. The Senate keeps her out of his hair and lets her feel important.

This is the LAT’s effort to see if it can start a migration of votes from Giuliani to McCain on the last day before the Florida primary.

Another Romney tactic (like the one done on Fred Thompson)?
The cat was let out of the bag on that one.
It was the McCain campaign. Both times. Maybe the reason McCain didn't get Fred's endorsement.

If it looks to be evil, it probably is, and for a reason.

Saying the winner of florida will be the nominee is a far cry from saying he’ll drop out.

End of the road, reported with more than a bit of glee by the LAT.

Rooty Toot NEVER should have been in the race to start with, nominating him would destroy the GOP.

Even if this is a “hit job,” Rooty has been very open about putting all of his efforts into Florida and EVERY poll shows Romney getting at least twice as many votes as him. There is NO WAY that every poll is off by that large a margin. Right now, Rooty is in a race for third place in Florida.

AP has tried it’s best — by taking his statement out of context and making it sound like he’ll drop out, they hope to swing his voters over to McCain.

My bet is he'll throw his support to McCain. It's their masters desire.

I was thinking the same thing.

And hoping against hope that it would somehow have a detrimental impact on McCain.

Where do you think Rudy will throw his support if at all?

Mitt or MeCain?

The former seems more probable than the latter. What? He couldn’t hold out one more day? Type about morale popper.

Good, I was sick of his distortions and all 9/11, all the time.

I still can’t believe how inept his campaign is. Was?
