Medved on McCain: 'Rush Acting Like a Liberal'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Michael Medved has hurled the ultimate insult at Rush Limbaugh -- that he's acting like a liberal. According to Medved, Rush is thinking with his emotions, not his mind, when it comes to his criticism of of John McCain.

McCain supporter Medved appeared on Tucker Carlson's MSNBC show this evening.

Actually, emotion is part of what’s at issue for me. McPain’s emotions, that is.

Would you want a man with a notorious hair-trigger temper to have his finger on the nuclear button?

The Dems and the MSM will be sure to remind voters of that question in November, to say nothing of the Keating Five: http://www.realchange.org/mccain.htm

I think he was referring to Rush’s 3 forms of conservatism schtick.

You have 3. Fiscal, Social and Neocon. With the candidates remaining you are not going to get all three qualities. So basically, we already know the lib has none. At least McCain is pro-life and for the war effort. Romney might not even have those qualities so theoretically McCain is more Conservative then Romney.

So would we rather sit home and let a lib become President or would we rather vote for a candidate that has some Conservative values in him?

I know. I was just thinking that we usually elect Governors. They have already run a state. Good experience for the possibility of running the country. I couldn't stomach Huckabee as I think he’s just a tad too smarmy. I have been hoping Romney could get some traction but the Indies and conservative Dems voting for McCain have put the kibosh on that.

Rush is just one of the many prominent people who lacked the courage to endorse a conservative candidate when he had a chance. The two conservative candidates have left the field because people like Rush wasn't courageous enough to support them.

Guys like Rush deserve anything they get in the way of a nominee. He has forfeited any right to complain.

“The guy is an apologist for the GOP establishment.”

That’s the best way to describe him, he refuses to entertain the notion that there’s any flaws in his candidate (a trait he shares with Hewitt). Regardless of whether he wants to endorse the guy or not; if he would take an honest look at McCain’s positives and many, many negatives I could have more respect for him.

I got a bunch of 'em.

I feel exactly the same way - he’s really gotten wishy-washy, and seems to apologize for everything true conservatives are against... you know, that nagging little thing like amnesty for illegal aliens. I even heard him challenge any caller to prove that by crossing the border and staying here that any “undocumented worker” was breaking any law - he claimed there was no law on the books that was being broken. I distinctly recall hearing him state the aforementioned, because that is exactly when I decided if I ever heard his voice on my radio again, I was immediately going to turn the channel.

I personally think Rush is way off base on a lot of things too, but not on this subject.

So this Brainus is the authority on Conservatism?

Medved, please get lost. You are a pompous bore. Do people actually listen to your show?

Indeed.

People like Medved are why we are up that well-known estuary without any visible means of locomotion.

Further, when the fecal matter hits the rotating impeller, the result is not uniformely distributed.

I’m not sure. Ann Coulter has a point - at least with a Dem Pres, the Repubs would fight it - as opposed to what has often happened with Bush for example. McCain though seems to relish backstabbing conservatives. I’m really torn on him.

Agreed and he is a big amnesty supporter also. I am done with him.
