I also thought Romney scored well on that last night.

He says other things behind the scenes according to numerous accounts at an event. As a matter of fact, McCain is the only one from the event who says he didn’t say it.

I’m just telling you - the folks at the Reagan Library liked Romney’s response to this point. I don’t think The Clinton New Network added the applause.

"If he’s [McCain's] POTUS, we’ll get another Suter and another O’Connor."

We MIGHT get another Souter, but much more likely we'll get someone who makes Ginsburg look conservative from McCain with Schumer and the Democrats leaning on him and having the final vote whether the nominee gets to the floor for a vote. Just keep in mind that Soros will definitely have a say in who McCain chooses since he's the puppet master for both the Democrats and many of the RINOs like Specter and McCain.

Romney appointed liberal judges in a liberal state.

Which is why he should not be the Republican nominee for President.

Polls prophesying General Election results at this hour?

YGBK!! They’re meaningless! Well, except to demonstrate that McCain is the “Conservative” preferred by most Democrats. Hardly flattery, there.

Well that’s pretty disturbing to think that we’ll get someone that makes Ginsburg look like a conservative. Doesn’t Souter vote with her as well as Breyer and Steven’s all of the time as well?
Does Soros really have control over Specter and McCain? I guess I haven’t heard that before.

“McCain said last night that he would like to appoint justices like Alito and Roberts.”

McCain has a habit of saying one thing to sound conservative and then saying another to sounds moderate. This April 2007 comment is not the first time he’s been a RINO moderate on judges; he was part of the gang of 14.

And Romney said that he would like to appoint justices like Scalia, Thomas, Alito and Roberts.

The difference is that McCain sounded okay with OConnor while Romney was more point blank on the type of strict constructionist they would want to appoint.

Romney should have also mentioned another good guy - Bork - and mentioned that Judge Robert Bork endorsed him.

If Huckabee and Romney can score enough delegates between them to prevent McCain from locking up the nomination, then there’ll have to be a brokered deal at thte convention.

My hope is that Huckabee will find himself in a third place position, recognize that the BIG decision is going to be between Romney and McCain, and decide to — as part of the dealmaking — throw in with Mitt in a bid to be his VP. That transfer of delegates would lock up the nomination for Romney, derail McCain, and we’d be back to a real two-party battle in the General come November.

If McCain's the nominee, I'm still voting for him.

Even if his choice for SCOTUS is his good bud Lindsey Graham it would be about 6,000 percent better than Hillary's choice of some department head of wymyn's studies from Bryn Mawr.

I'm assuming Lindsey would vote with us about 61 percent of the time, which would be 6,000 percent more than Hillary's choice (generously assuming she votes with us 1 percent of the time.)

And someone like Lindsey could be the vote to dump Roe which would make me very happy with McInsane.

And if he should pick someone like Roberts who he said he likes, none of us would cause for complaint.

I'm still voting for Mitt in the primary.

McCain = Hillary = Obama.

What would be the difference. At best McCain is a Sccop Jackson Democrat. We need another Jimmy Carter for the next Reagan.

If McCain is elected future Republican candidates would get the message that you have to be a RINO to win and the party will become Democrat lite which I have no interest in supporting. I and millions of others are done with supporting liberals acting as Republicans. McCain is the textbook definition of a RINO.

Greg F has had it in for Romney from the get-go. He’s biased.

I’m in Romney camp so maybe I’m biased, but McCain was as annoying and as bad as Hillary IMHO in that exchange.

McCain was and is a small-minded peevish man who went out of his way to make unfair digs and dishonest charges at Romney. His charge against Romney is a lie and most objective observers would be left wondering what McQueeg’s deal is with the Strawberries, er, timetables. Especially when Romney *did* support the surge the *day* it was announced, *did* go after Reid and the Democrats on their defeatism, *did* say he would *veto* timetables for withdrawals. In fact, His position and McCain’s has been the same. McCain simply lied to try to look the better.

Romney is a class act.
McCain is a classic jerk.

“In February, Romney issued an Executive Order establishing a non-partisan and merit-based process for nominating judges to safeguard the system from favoritism and politics and ensure the most qualified individuals are selected to sit on the bench.

The new process requires a blind review of judicial candidates so individuals are not identified by name, but initially are reviewed based solely on their professional qualifications. It also prohibits applicants from making political donations to the Governor and Lieutenant Governor while they are going through the review process.”

PING for truth!
