2012 Republican Presidential Nomination Candidate List
Myself | 02/06/08 | GOPGuide

Posted on 02/06/2008 4:13:58 PM PST by GOPGuide

Ok, the GOP is heading for disaster this November.

Just for the sake of conversation who do people like for president in 2012? Here is a list of conservatives who might make a race out of 2012:

General David Petraeus

Senator John Thune

Senator John Ensign

Senator Jim DeMint

Governor Don Carcieri

Governor Mark Sanford

Governor Bobby Jindal

Governor Haley Barbour

Oh, and how about replacing Iowa and New Hampshire in the Republican nomination with more reliably conservative medium sized states such as Colorado and Nevada going first and second respectively and allowing ONLY registered Republicans to vote in the primary?

How about some real reality television. Let’s have Mitch McConnell put in a private bill to allow non-citizens to run for president—my choice: Benjamin Netanyahu.

Add Mike Reagan to your list even if we have to drag him hollering and kicking.

now, I may not have a list of people I’d WANT to be candidates, but I know who I would NOT want again:

No list for next time:
Fred: by then too old, unfortunately.
Hunter: Endorsed Huckabee.. ‘nuf sed. otherwise he’d be on the FOR list
Newt: FORGET IT.. he’s gone too far left of late, plus just too unpopular to ever have a chance.
Giuliani:. No need to say more.
Huckabee: No way. Ever.

I dont see anyone in the current House or Senate leadership ready to stand up.It’s been warned for years that our bench was mighty thin, and now we’re paying the price for that. I thikn Jindal and Palin both have a future, but I also dont think that either of them will be ready for the prime time by then. Unless some new star appears, we’re well and truly hosed for more likely 8 years than 4

The Republican Party may actually become dead before ‘12, so all of these things won’t matter.

I’m also going to guess that John McCain will choose Mark Sanford to be his running mate in the present Presidential race. Mark Sanford and John McCain are friends.

Newt is a Globalist, Internationalist, Global Warming enthusiast who carries more baggage than a freight train. No thanks.

Sessions would make the best president of all those mentioned. However, his rational thought processes probably eliminates him for consideration by the largely ignorant electorate in the US.

What makes you think social conservatives would accept three times married Newt.

Global warming will be so bad by then that it won’t matter.

Sanford has said he’ll serve out his term. He won’t be on the ticket.

Jindal is ready for primetime despite being only 36. Listen to him speak and you’ll see that not only is he eloquent but he is substantive and has a firm grasp of the issues...all of the issues. He is the future of the Party and a significant reason why this leftward lurch by the Republicans with McCain does not worry me as much as it does some of you.

You do realize that’s what the left said about Bush, right?

Of course. The difference is, I KNEW President Bush wouldn't do that. I have no such assurances that Hillary wouldn't do that.

That woman scares me beyond all reason.

The former governor of Colorado, his first name is Bill, don’t remember his last.
