I have a couple of lib friends that would vote for McCain over Hillary. They don't want a return to the Clinton crap. And the more conservatives are known to hate McCain, the more those libs might think it would be an ok move.

Maybe he has inside info? LOL
To: j_k_l
Nope. Once he has the nomination locked up, the media is going to KILL this guy. This is a huge "rope a dope" on their part. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a serial groper and he was elected there. White business women and Hispanics and Asians and old people who have supported Hillary will be quite inclined to support McCain over Obama. Obama is a superstar and if these voters vote against him in that kind of environment, they will vote against him in the general when his inadequacies are more of an issue.

I think there is an element of truth in that. He represents a legitimate alternative to those in the muddled middle.

"LOL media is going to kill him?"
They are setting him up and once he has the Republican nomination locked up, they are going to turn on him and bury him. Everything from him ditching his first wife [the one who waited for him to come home from Vietnam] to his age, temperament.... You name it. They are going to rip this guy to shreds.

“I hear the constant refrain that RINOs are killing the Republican Party but, IMO, it is conservatives who are to blame”
If you dislike Conservatives so much, why do you post on a conservative website?

I know there's great disappointment over the apparent Republican nominee. But, before our tantrum becomes dangerous, let's remember the significant differences between Hillary (who will be the Presidential nominee) and John McCain:
She will raise taxes, he will not
She is pro abortion, he is not
She is for cut and run in Iraq, he is not
She wants to socialize medicine, he does not
She wants to add hundreds and hundreds of billions in new spending, he will not,
She wants to "fix" social security by raising taxes, he wants personal accounts
She is for appeasement with Iran, he is not
She will appoint Ginsbergs and Stevens, he will at the very least appoint more Roberts.
To: meandog
At least McCain gives us a chance to clean up the mess left behind Yeah, he'll leave another mess so big, we'll forget about the other ones. LOL!

"Arnold Schwarzenegger was a serial groper and he was elected there."
Arnold has incredible name recognition. The morons in California who voted for him probably are unaware that he was only acting in his movies and is not a Super Action Hero.
McCain is going to get THUMPED HARD.

Not saying he will definitely do these things, just that I don’t underestimate his nerve to do so based upon his past actions. He loves to stick it in the eye of conservatives.

I don’t underestimate him.
I think he could screw up any presidential election he’s involved with.
The big guns are turning on him now getting ready for when he’s the Nom.
Man that is a target rich environment!

“A day earlier, in Milwaukee, in front of an audience of more sympathetic businessmen, McCain had been asked how debate over the immigration bill was playing politically. In the short term, it probably galvanizes our base, he said. In the long term, if you alienate the Hispanics, youll pay a heavy price. Then he added, unable to help himself, By the way, I think the fence is least effective. But Ill build the goddamned fence if they want it.

That map it the reality of the election. The GOP has tried to cut out the conservatives and go back to a liberal party. They picked a fight.

"are you a code pink and move on . org blogger?"
Interesting, I thought it was clear that I AM NOT supporting McCain.
Must be either ignorance or a reading comprehension problem on your part.
Watch and learn. McCain has been propped up by the media because they know they can destroy him. If you disagree, you must not be either clueless or not paying attention.
