I have a couple of lib friends that would vote for McCain over Hillary. They don't want a return to the Clinton crap.

Not sure if this sample would equate to the quality polling done by Zogby, but that's the result of my long and exhausting research.

A couple I'm friends with told me Sunday they've always voted Democrat but were voting for McCain this time around.

The fact that McCain can draw liberals to vote for a Republican doesn't impress me.

Not one bit.

And the more conservatives are known to hate McCain, the more those libs might think it would be an ok move.

My brother and his family and their circle of friends are pretty apathetic about politics but they have one thing in common: they all like John McCain and are all going to vote for him this fall (at least one voting for the first time in years). They don't like partisan politics and see John McCain as someone who will rise above it.

I don't share their sentiments but I think it is not uncommon among the independents. It is what will make John McCain a political force in the general election.
