In mid-January, talk show host Rush Limbaugh told his 13 million listeners: "If either of these two guys get the nomination, it's going to destroy the Republican party. It's going to change it forever, be the end of it. A lot of people aren't going to vote. You watch." Those of us who watched last night only saw Republicans favouring the two alleged destroyers over Romney, whom Limbaugh consistently favours.

The irony in all of this is that McCain actually is a staunch conservative on many issues, including abortion, and is not above the occasional pander to the hard-right himself. (Last year, he seemed to back off harsh criticisms he made of religious right leaders during his 2000 presidential bid, for example.) But his strong performance yesterday indicates that grassroots Republicans are, in fact, willing to tolerate his departures from party orthodoxy. They continue to admire his heroism as a POW during the Vietnam war. And they still seem him as the most electable candidate in a general election.

Oh my....now you are bashing Fred? I thought you posted this thread to discuss Rush...wth?
As far as Rush goes, “Every knock is a boost.” If they understood him, his audience and his manner of celebrity they would know he revels in such notorious attacks.
What does THAT mean?
... on satellite radio, after he gets pushed off the air because of the Fairness Doctrine.
Might be a good time to buy Sirius stock!
Rush’s success is not determined by who wins or loses elections.
Neither is my enjoyment of his show.
In fact, Rush’s show has provided me much more than any elected politician ever would or could.
Yep, pretty much...........
I knew you would need the asbestos BVDs when you posted this. I skimmed the comments and was correct.
Lockstep:A standardized procedure that is closely, often mindlessly followed.

Btw. Dane. Arnt you the same Dane, that is the pro-illegal aliens, and defender of illegals taking jobs from U.S. citizens?
He is the same Dane that is for Huck a berry fin.
In all sincerity they are voicing and calling in what MIILLIONS are thinking. They don’t want the Republican party to CONTINUE going to the LEFT. If I wanted to be a Demoncrat I’d register as one. I’m a registered, PRINCIPLED Republican. We have NO INTENTION of bending over and voting for a Demoncrat which is what McCain and the Huckster are.
It’s time for some tough love towards the Republican Party. The ONLY reason We remain registered Republicans is get the RIGHT nominee in as a Republican. Mitt comes closet to that without dirty tricks - McCain supporters seeing McCain in losing and tells them to vote for the Huckster so Mitt is denied a clean victory in states. That’s disgusting. It reminds me of the Patriots and makes me even happier that the NY Giants won. Hell has to freexe over before genuine Republicans that are conservative vote for either McCain or the twisted Huckster. It wouldn't suprise me if the Huckster stated when he eventually loses that we'll all go to hell because we didn't vote for HIM. LOL! He needs to be concerned about who he sold HIS soul to and it isn't Christ.
Well said. She (It is female) has been in and out of this site for years, continuously getting her butt kicked and stirring up angst with her idiotic posts. What she seems to lack in intelligence IS made up for in persistence. I thought they had finally banned her but she is still here, not changed a bit.
What happened to the other 7+ million?

When choosing between Rush and McCain I’ll gladly pick Rush. Even if Rush endorsed McCain I’d have a hard time swallowing him.
Yes, Hillary is responsible for what she does with the Justices.
I have no problem seeing the Demoncrats get the WH. If that is how the Republican party must learn - so be it!
It’s all about PRINCIPLE. I can’t compromise on that to the EXTREME that a McCain and a Huckster require. If need be, I’ll write in a vote for Mitt or maybe a pet.
Your not a fan of Juan’s? I’m shocked, SHOCKED! Why, I’m surprised that you’re not down in the barrios this very minute handing out McCain brochures in espanol.
Staunch neoconservative on wot, liberal moderate on abortion and liberal on everything else.
Our leaders are idiots.....
Yes, it makes the LEFT in the Republican party feeeellll beeetttteeerrrr about their LEFTIST candidates, McCain and the sleazy Huckster.
Ha! Listening to Laura Ingraham with guest Mark Steyn as I type. Great stuff! Looking forward to Rush at 11 if work doesn’t get in the way too bad. ;o)
Dane, please don’t you ever change. We appreciate the targets you put up down range. Practice, practice, practice. ;o)
