John McCain funded by Soros since 2001

Candidate's Reform Institute also accepted funds from Teresa Kerry

As Sen. John McCain assumes the GOP front-runner mantle, his long-standing, but little-noticed association with left-wing donors such as George Soros and Teresa Heinz Kerry is receiving new attention among his Republican critics.

In 2001, McCain founded the Alexandria, Va.-based Reform Institute as a vehicle to receive funding from George Soros' Open Society Institute and Teresa Heinz Kerry's Tides Foundation and several other prominent non-profit organizations.

McCain used the institute to promote his political agenda and provide compensation to key campaign operatives between elections.

In 2006, the Arizona senator was forced to sever his formal ties with the Reform Institute after a controversial $200,000 contribution from Cablevision came to light. McCain solicited the donation for the Reform Institute using his membership on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. In a letter to the Federal Communications Commission, he supported Cablevision's push to introduce the more profitable al la carte pricing, rather than packages of TV programming.

This one is right up McCain’s alley... the Piper Fund.
Lots of good commie enablers in this list.

http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/funderProfile.asp?fndid=5265

The Piper Fund strongly supports campaign finance reform. Regarding money as the root of all evil in democratic politics, this Fund gave $5 million from 1999-2003 to lobbying organizations and researchers dedicated to bringing about such reform. The Piper Fund is financed by the Arca Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Joyce Foundation, the McKay Foundation, the Nathan Cummings Foundation, the Solidago Foundation, the Stern Family Fund, the Columbia Foundation, the Changing Horizons Fund, the Open Society Institute, the Ford Foundation, the Schumann Center for Media and Democracy, the Tides Foundation, the Jenifer Altman Foundation, the Compton Foundation, the Educational Foundation of America, the JEHT Foundation, the Lear Family Foundation, Working Assets, Funding Exchange, and many more.

I don’t think this will necessarily give us Obama, it will just encourage more Dems to vote for McCain - not that that’s a good thing. None of the 3 front runners is anything but a disaster for conservatism.

LOL. Nope—no Obama or Kucinich.

Hey, have you ever looked at this group?

http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/groupprofile.asp?grpid=7351

DEMOCRACY 21

• Pro-campaign-finance-reform organization
• Receives funding from George Soros’ Open Society Institute
• Member organization of the anti-tax cut coalition Fair Taxes For All

Based in Washington, DC, Democracy 21 describes itself as a “nonpartisan” group that seeks to “eliminate the undue influence of big money in American politics and to ensure the integrity and fairness of government decisions and elections.” In ... Democracy 21 has also helped the network of George Soros-led Shadow Party groups gain immense influence within the Democratic Party.

... Democracy 21 is a staunch supporter of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 (BCRA), also known as the McCain-Feingold Act, which stipulated that political parties and candidates could only accept “hard money” contributions — ... But the Shadow Party evaded McCain-Feingold’s limits by working through independent non-profit groups (”527 committees” ...) that ostensibly had no connection to the Democratic Party ... Thus, with the aid of Democracy 21 and other organizations that supported McCain-Feingold with its built-in loophole, the rules governing the financing of political campaigns tilted in favor of the Democrats.

(snip)

Democracy 21 is a member organization of Fair Taxes For All, an anti-tax cut coalition co-chaired by People For the American Way, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, the National Women’s Law Center, AFSCME, Campaign for America’s Future, and USAction. Other member organizations include: ACORN; the American Friends Service Committee; the Center for Community Change; the Center For Women’s Policy Studies; the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities; the Children’s Defense Fund; Defenders of Wildlife; Democratic Socialists of America; Earthjustice; Friends of the Earth; the League of Women Voters; the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund; MoveOn; the Ms. Foundation for Women; the NAACP; the National Council for Research on Women; the National Council of La Raza; the National Council of Women’s Organizations; the National Organization for Women; the National Partnership for Women and Families; the National Urban League; the Older Women’s League; Public Citizen; the Service Employees International Union; the Shefa Fund; the Sierra Club; and the Wilderness Society.

Democracy 21 has received heavy funding from George Soros’ Open Society Institute, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Joyce Foundation, and the Pew Charitable Trusts.

It makes you wonder what it would take for some people to believe that a political party could be taken over by subversive interests.
There seems to be no limit to what folks will accept these days.

As bad as the RNC is, it is McCain himself that is the real problem and has most of these ties to leftists. He really is the manchurian candidate.

I can’t figure out what actually motivates the man. He says principle, but it only goes skin deep. I haven’t seen him embrace any policy—only a podium from which to look down from.

Did you see the youtube video that went up on the POW hearings from the early 1990s? What a jerk!

His nonsense about respecting those that disagree with him is just that, nonsense. He was seething because he got caught trying to short sheet the POW investigations.

John O’Neill stated on Scarborough that Corsi has been distorting his contributions and was only an editor on the book.

There is nothing to like about McCain - he is crude, nasty, unstable, left/liberal, lacking in energy, an adulterer ready to betray those who trust him. His lies hint at him being a sociopath. His stand on POW/MIA issues is deplorable. He has given us CFR, he voted against the Cornyn amendment, and is in a frenzy to push amnesty. Some believe he is the Manchurian Candidate. Even his second wife has baggage - a creepy couple.

The horror stories never end for that era. A few years back, even before the Kerry campaign, I took to reading through old FBI files on their website. One set of files was the pows/mias. I couldn’t believe what these poor families were put through by our local communist groups in the late 1960s and 1970s. There were some real tear-jerker stories in there. The McCain/Kerry thing was just icing on the cake.
