Thanks for posting the list—I was pretty sure that McCain actually stuck with the Republicans on this one for a change.
Interesting. I did not remember that Fred Thompson voted with the Dems on one of the charges.
I have not seen this issue raised at any time in the past year.
How does he explain it?
Specter, Jeffords, and Chaffee are the ones I particularly resented. Tompson escaped my notice.
That’s not accurate. Check your facts, please.
The real issue then, was Chinese money.
It’s magnified tenfold, now.
As a former FRedhead, I’ll tell you, Fred said he didn’t think it rose to the level of impeachment. However, I say, it wasn’t his job to decide if it “rose” to that level. His job was to decide guilty or not guilty.
I understand his motive, he didn’t want to set such a dangerous precedent for future Presidents. I mean they all lie of course, but should the Country be put through the stress and drama of attempting to impeach each and every President? In my opinion they should, when the lie denies another citizen of their Civil Rights.
“Remember Trent Lott and Ted Stevens. They are particularly worthy of blame.”

You can add my senator Arlen “Scottish Law” Specter!
That was Arlen Specter (R-Pa.). As far as I'm concerned, he may as well have cited Paraguayan, Albanian, or Uzbekistani legal codes--which have just as much relevance in this country as Scottish law--to rationalize his vote.
It was raised. Repeatedly.
Here’s his statement.

Your list is not necessary. All 100 of these bastards voted FOR the rules of engagement which were constructed in a fashion to prevent a real trial in the Senate. Instead, a trial for show is what we got. All are traitors to the constitution that each of them swore to uphold. The moment these rules were approved, our government openly admitted to all of us just how illegal they are. All of them.
