IRGC Website Analyzes Effects Of Mughniya Assassination: “Israel Will Pay A Very Heavy Price”

An analysis of the assassination of senior Hizbullah commander Imad Mughniya posted on the website of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) stated that the assassination was “a turning point in the operational conflict between Israel and Hizbullah, following which Israel will pay a very heavy price.”

The analysis explains, “Following the assassination, all members of the Israeli security system that Israel sends to Europe, Asia, and Africa, in different garb and on European and U.S. passports, are considered moving targets for Hizbullah.”

The article also said that Hizbullah would expand the borders of the conflict with Israel to any Israeli target, wherever it may be.

It also warned that if it was not found how Mughniya was killed, Hizbullah could be the target of further blows from Israel, because Hizbullah leaders are on the list of Israel’s assassination targets, as proven by Mughniya’s assassination.

“Jordan stops mourning of gunman”
By KHALED ABU TOAMEH

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The source pointed out that in the past Jordanian authorities prevented the family of slain arch-terrorist Abu Musab Zarqawi from holding a similar event in the town of Zarqa.

Jordan was one of the few Arab countries to condemn the shooting spree at the Mercaz Harav Yeshiva in Jerusalem.

Earlier this month, Kuwaiti authorities banned Palestinians and Lebanese from publicly mourning slain Hizbullah military commander Imad Mughniyeh.

The Kuwaitis even deported some Palestinians and Lebanese who hailed Mughniyeh as a “martyr” and called to avenge his death.”

JORDAN STOPS PUBLIC MOURNING OF GUNMAN

Khaled Abu Toameh, THE JERUSALEM POST Mar. 8, 2008

Jordanian security forces have prevented relatives of Ala Abu Dhaim, the man who carried out the terrorist attack in Jerusalem last Thursday, from publicly mourning him.

The relatives, who live near Amman, tried Friday to erect a large tent to receive mourners, but were ordered by Jordanian security officers to dismantle it immediately.

The officers handed the relatives an order signed by the governor of Amman banning them from erecting the tent or publicly mourning Abu Dhaim.

They were also instructed to remove Hamas and Hizbullah flags that were hanging on rooftops and electricity poles.

Iran issues Mugniyah stamp
03.10.08
Iran issued a new state stamp Monday, carrying the image of slain Hizbullah commander Imad Mugniyah, they claim was assassinated by Israel. Mugniyah was killed in a Damascus explosion on February 12th.

According to the Iranian news agency Fars the stamp will be “a cultural message of support from the Iranian people to the Lebanese nation against the crimes of the Zionist regime.” The stamp was revealed in an official state ceremony, attended by the heads of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the Iranian minister of communications, representatives of Hamas, Hizbullah and family members of the Lebanese killed in the Second Lebanon War.

“Mahmoud Abbas’ Official PA Newspaper Glorifies Mass Murder (Again)”
Thu, Mar 13, 2008 at 6:04:23 pm PST

SNIPPET: “Palestinian Media Watch continues blowing the whistle on the shell game being played by so-called “moderate” Palestinian Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas, as the official Fatah daily newspaper publishes article after article glorifying mass murdering arch-terrorist Imad Mughniyeh.”

#

http://pmw.org.il/Bulletins_mar2008.html#b120308

“Special Report
“An extraordinary hero... a beacon of light!”
Arch terrorist Imad Mughniyeh
lauded in PA - Fatah paper
Samir Kuntar: I will continue down his path
Review of PA articles - one month after killing of Mughniyeh.”
by Itamar Marcus and Barbara crook, Mar 12 2008

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Senior Hezbollah terrorist Imad Mughniyeh has been placed on a pedestal of glory in various articles in the official Palestinian Authority Fatah daily. Western countries have expressed virtually unanimous relief that the terrorist, wanted by 42 countries and on the FBI’s most wanted list, was killed by a car bomb in Damascus on February 12, 2008. The Palestinian Authority, on the other hand, has been using the media under its control to mourn his death.

One article by a senior Fatah leader describes Mughniyeh as an “extraordinary hero... unequaled Hezbollah commander ... a beacon of light.” His killing is called a “murder in broad daylight... a tragedy that has hurt every Lebanese, every Palestinian, every Arab, and every free man on the face of this earth.” The revenge for his death will be more terror and eventually Israel’s destruction.

So wrote Fatah leader Ahmad Dahbur, until recently the undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, in Al Hayat Al Jadida, the official PA daily controlled by Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah faction. His article, along with others paying lavish tribute to the dead terrorist, makes no mention of the fact that Mughniyeh was responsible for the murders of hundreds of civilians and soldiers in worldwide terror attacks. Among his many international terror attacks, Mughniyeh was responsible for the killing of 241 American soldiers of the peacekeeping force in Lebanon in 1983.

The Palestinian Authority has glorified his years of murder as heroic. It describes him repeatedly as a “Shahid” (Islamic Martyr), the highest Islamic status, and has run his photo with that caption. He is crowned the “Knight of Lebanese Resistance.”

The PA newspaper, assuming it was Israel who killed him (Israel has denied involvement in the killing), refers to Israel as “the treacherous Zionist enemy,” reiterates the PA’s “rage and hatred” for Israel and promises more “resistance the PA euphemism for terror) ... the blow which will hand over death.””

Iranian Weekly: Our Determination In Nuclear Issue Weakening West’s Threats

The Iranian weekly Parto-e Sokhan, which is identified with Ayatollah Mesbah-e Yazdi, spiritual mentor to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, stated that the West’s threats against Iran were weakening due to Iran’s insistence on its right to nuclear technology.

The weekly also pointed to increased foreign investment in Iran in the past year as proof of the sanctions’ weakness.

Referring to the assassination of senior Hizbullah commander Imad Mughniya, the paper said that Israel’s achievement would be erased by a new Hizbullah operation against it.

“’Jewish Agency attack spontaneous’”
By HAVIV RETTIG

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The context for the attack is as yet unclear. Knafo has said he knew of no reason anyone would target his home, while Amos Hermon, a member of the Jewish Agency Executive and chair of its Task Force on Anti-Semitism, echoed other agency officials in noting the attack may mark an unparalleled escalation of anti-Israel campus activism.

“This is unprecedented,” said Hermon. “A Jewish Agency emissary hasn’t been attacked in America for decades, and we’ve never known a Molotov cocktail attack that came from anti-Israel or anti-Semitic groups.”

As a semi-official organization, the Jewish Agency is a “protected entity,” the security of which is under the purview of the Israel Security Agency (ISA), which coordinates security for Israeli representation overseas.

Agency officials, including Hermon, cite tensions that may have risen over the weekend due to a massive Jewish Agency campaign on dozens of university campuses and in hundreds of synagogues and schools in the US and worldwide to commemorate the March 6 terror attack on Jerusalem’s Mercaz Harav Yeshiva which killed eight students.

The agency has also received warnings from Israeli security services over possible retaliation attacks in the wake of the assassination in Damascus of Hizbullah mastermind Imad Mughniyeh on February 12. At the time, Israeli officials welcomed Mughniyeh’s death, but did not claim responsibility for the operation.

Following the Saturday attack, hundreds of Jewish Agency emissaries throughout the US and Canada were briefed on the event and its security implications.”

“Trouble brewing in the Gulf”
By OLIVIER GUITTA (Middle East Times)Published: March 17, 2008

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Hezbollah chief terror master Imad Mugnieh created havoc, terror and a trail of blood during his life. His death is likely to bring more of the same. And this might not be “limited” to potential retaliation terror attacks. Indeed, Kuwait is already paying the nefarious consequences of Mugnieh’s death.

Mugnieh was not well liked in Kuwait, to say the least: at one point, he was considered public enemy number one. He was allegedly behind a 1988 airliner hijacking that resulted in the death of two Kuwaitis.”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “This situation has much broader implications and might involve the major player in the region: Iran. In fact, rumors of Iran’s involvement in stirring chaos in the Gulf, by using the local Shiite population, have been abound in recent years. For analyst Nabil al-Fadhi, Iran is behind this crisis because it is looking to deter Kuwait from allowing the United States to launch attacks against the Islamic republic from its territory.

But the trouble is far from limited just to Kuwait.”

Israel will hold Syria accountable if attacked by Hezbollah

Beirut - Israel recently conveyed a warning to Syria through a third party that it would hold Damascus accountable if Lebanese Hezbollah launched attacks on the Jewish state, Israeli and European sources said on Friday.

The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the warning stemmed largely from Israeli concerns that Hezbollah would launch salvos of cross-border rockets to coincide with any major Israeli offensive in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

The sources said the message was conveyed in February through at least one European intermediary following the assassination of a top Hezbollah commander ( pictured) and before this month’s five-day Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip in which more than 120 Palestinians, many of them civilians, were killed.

After the group’s senior commander, Imad Moughniyah, was killed in a bombing in Damascus, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah threatened Israel with “open war
