I think they just voted it out of committee, not on the Senate floor in general.

That's correct.

If it passed on a voice vote in both houses, they will easily have enough votes to override Dubya’s veto.

I surely expect the master of the Senate McCain to pull the rug out from under this ‘earmark’ legislation.

“This is what you’ll get more of if you “stay home” “

No, this is what we get from the last time we had an election with no conservative candidate. This has nothing to do with the NEXT election, this is NOW.

This is less evil than the alternative, apparently.

Here’s another one, Southack. This one actually accuses FReepers of “hate speech” for not liking McCain.

A newbie troll with a clever screen name disguise.

I really wish JR would go to a closed registration system like Little Green Footballs has. This place is being attacked like no other site on the internet.

Thats possible. I thought I heard Glenn Beck say it passed the Senate. In any case, every time it has passed, has been by a quick voice vote. They apparently don’t want to be on record on this vote. I’m sure the full Senate vote will be (was?) no different.

“I hope Rush and Hannity exposed this Democrat cow dung today”

What good would THAT do? They shouldda been exposing this for months! Now, the bill has passed...it’s too late.

Latest Major Action: 2/13/2008 Senate committee/subcommittee actions. Status: Committee on Foreign Relations. Ordered to be reported with amendments favorably.

IOW, it left committee on 2/13/08. No floor vote yet.

Did you do any research on the status of the bill before you hit the panic button?

the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide who live on less than $1 per day.

Oh, well, let's feed them and put them on a government-funded allowance. Once they're no longer hungry, they'll have children and instead of a million people living on a dollar a day, we'll have five million living on two dollars a day. And it won't even cost $10 million a day. Because it's routed through the super-efficient government bureaucracy, it'll be $100,000,000 a day! But that's a small price to pay for that little glow of self-satisfaction that warms a liberal heart at the thought of taking $100 million from people they don't like in order to give $10 million to people they enjoy pitying from a safe distance but whom they wouldn't want in the house.

No, the bill hasn’t passed. You were just lied to by various posters.

The bill may have been voted out of Committee, but the Senate itself has not yet held a Floor vote on it.

In the meantime, you can count the trolls and idiots who aren’t paying attention or are deliberately misleading you...

Since it was in Committee, it should have only been a committee vote, not a full Floor vote, today.

Thanks, that has to be it. Makes the headline just a bit misleading.

Cool! This means we will topple dicators and authoritarian governments world wide that are the leading cause of poverty. Right?

Bush-Kennedy ‘No Child Left Behind’. Signed Campaign Finance Reform. Kennedy-McCain-Bush Amnesty. Prescription Drugs entitlement. Supports DC Gun Ban. Supports Assault Weapons Ban. Shall I continue?

Tax cuts, and the war on terror is just about all Bush has going for him for Conservatives.

With all due respect for the President, his ‘compassionate conservatism’ does tend to cloud his judgment when it comes to spending our money.
