How folks are backing this guy is beyond me, let alone claiming he’s a “conservative” while doing it.

I would make that exact comment about Willard.

Don’t get me wrong, I think LDS teachings are kooky. But I still think that what Huckabee did was beyond the pale.

Well, it’s now official. A Democrat will be the next POTUS.

Afraid you're right. Hopefully the coming 4 years of hell will be enough to wake this stupid country up.

“Enough of this nonsense. Get the Huckster out and let unify to destroy the Hildebeast or the Cokehead.”

You got a BIG 10-4 from this FredHead.

"However, the delegates are under no obligation to do what he asks."

Good. Doesn't that mean McCain can't count them until a brokered convention? So even if they desire to follow Romney's instructions, it could still mean a brokered convention, where delegates assigned to McCain would have the opportunity to vote for Huckabee?

Not a surprise. At this point he wants to wash his hands of the coming train wreck November will prove to be, and I can't say as I blame him.

The only question left is will we get Obama or Hillary. Obama is more radical yet less scary, imho.

Time to exert all energies towards House, Senate, and local races. Onward and upward toward divided government, our ONLY salvation.

Don’t be so sure. McCain has stated he is interested in one term only. Romney might accept a VP spot on the ticket so he can be an incumbent of sorts in 2012 and have a lot of power to work with.

“I guess Romney is about as “conservative “ as McCain.”

You are aware that Reagan endorsed Ford in ‘76?

I heard McCain say that Romney should call him and get behind him if Romney means what he said about putting the country first and wanting to be a uniter.

McCain’s tone of voice was arrogant and almost sneering.

Well, it seems DUMB to me to send his delegates McCain’s way too. So who knows.

“Well how do ya Romney backers feel about your boy now?”

Makes sense in the mission to defeat Hilda-Bama.
Romney isn’t stupid.
Huckster could never dream to beat either one of them.
Let alone McCain.

Susan Estrich: “If the Republicans nominate Huckabee, I’m dancing at the inaugural ball.”

Time to defeat Hilda-Bama. Romney is smart enough to know that is most important thing now.

Mormon theology is undoubtedly unusual, as is Jewish to Catholics, Amish to Baptists, and Objectivist to Methodist.

I’m satisfied to look at how thorough Mormons live, and will use that to inform my willingness to vote for a thorough Mormon like Romney.

Every single thorough Mormon I’ve run into is a paragon of their community. Almost too straight-laced, but never an evil bone in their bodies. They seem obligated to try to convert you once, and after being told “No,” they become your best friend forever.

I’m not electing a pope but a president. I’ll take any religion, so long as adherence to it doesn’t impede conservative American values.

Is any religion so ontologically pure that it can withstand the scrutiny of every item taken on faith? I think not. I’ll live with good people who result from good religious practice.

Sheesh what's the big shock here anyway? Romney said in his speech to the conservatives that he was stepping down so that the party could be united in the war on terror. That was the day after super tuesday. Too me that was an endorsement for McCain.

Not that I'm listening to his suggestion and uniting.

Stop comparing Romney to Reagan.

There is no comparison.

Reagan was a conservative.

Romney`s record shows he supported liberal issues and liberal causes his entire life.
