Kinda confusing. I’m not sure whether all these endorsements are official or not.

The rules for the delegates differ state by state, but as far as I know they cannot be “ordered” by a candidate to do anything. They are often bound to vote for the candidate in the first ballot, or in the first several ballots, but after that they can do what they want or what state party rules say they can. So the delegates themselves can’t be given away. It’s a withdrawal from the race and an endorsement. No transfer of delegates.

AT LEAST Reagan waited until the convention to do so. Myth just wants to plant the stake into the heart of Huck.

There is no way Myth is going to be the leader of the conservative movement. This move is to stop Hucklebee from getting this 'title'.

Don’t get me wrong, I think LDS teachings are kooky. But I still think that what Huckabee did was beyond the pale.

Yeah, but by saying that God had multiple sons, it is denying that Jesus is God (God and Jesus are one), thereby proving that Mormons aren't Christians. Christians believe that Christ was God. Huck simply spoke the truth and it was spun by the dims and the media.

mccain has to ask romney. only way to seal the deal. it would make me feel better cause i don’t think john will live very long. still have to think about whether i would vote for mccain if Mitt is on the ticket.

McCain is Romney’s stocking horse.

I wonder if he goes around in his stalking feet, too. </s>

Now that there is zero change of a brokered convention, it is time Huckabee to bow out gracefully and do so in such a way that his Christian backers will understand that the most important thing we can do as a party is unite to keep Hillary or Obama out of the Whitehouse.

good for Romney...he;’s a gentlman and should have a great political future because of this. We are facing the juggernaut named Obama at this point..and we need every vote.

Unless of course Hillary pulls a sly move and manages to get Mich and Florida seated....but that will also be the end of the dem party.

I think he made the right choice.

McCain is a better choice than either of the Dems. Huckabee doesn't have a chance of winning the nomination.

It's time for the Republicans that can stomach it to start rallying around the person that is going to be their candidate regardless of if they want him to be or not.

Of course in my opinion Huckabee is even worse that McCain. Huckabee has too muck of a problem with the truth to really be the social conservative he claims to be, and he's a fiscal liberal and clueless on foreign affairs.

McCain is a horrible choice, Huckabee is even worse.

“Pay back is a bitch, Huck.”

Yep, as much as I am dismayed by McCain being our nominee, the only thing that would be worse IMO is Huckabee. I have to say, Romney giving McCain his delegates - makes me smile a little. Oh well, The Huck will be spending the weekend in the Cayman Islands, collecting his $$$$.

I think Romney did the only thing he knew he could do.

Huckabee is a buffoon and not qualified for office.... McCain is way out in front and will get the nod one way or another...

Its about like pulling tape off your leg... you can either pull it bit by bit and ouch ouch ouch all the way....

Or you can rip it off and get over with the pain...

Romney sees the sheer stupidity that some people are promoting and hence apparently has chosen the lesser of two evils....he rip the tape off the leg and 'just got it over with'....

Which that is a good thing.

Not to my knowledge.

Romney was a liberal independent, however, and at one time or another betrayed the Constitution and spoke out against Reaganism, the Contract With America and the Republican Party. Not to mention supporting Roe v Wade, gun control, gay rights and promoting nationalized health care. But of course, evberything changed when Romney decided to run for POTUS in 2005.

I don’t remember Reagan engaging in those politics as a Democrat or a Republican. Do you?

Romney can ask his delegates to vote for McCain, but he can’t order them to. They can vote for whomever they want to. Most of them will probably vote for McCain, but some probably won’t, perhaps even if Huckabee has withdrawn before the convention.

That sounds like something you read on the tabloids at the checkout stand — right up there with “two-headed baby born speaking ancient Aramaic and juggling 6 tennis balls born to a mermaid”

“LDS people think that we all are brothers, so that happens to include Jesus and anyone else. Huckabee feigned ignorance and tried to make it sound like Mormons worship Satan just like Jesus. 1) It was a stupid low blow, and 2) As a trained religious guy, Huckster should know better”

Huckabee knew what he was doing.

Nah.... Mitt looked at Juan and said “This boy’s gonna win — so I’ll settle for VP”

McSlug will be a one term president. Mitt would be in perfect position to run in 2012.
