This may be an explanation toward’s Macedonia’s future recognition of Kosovo...

“The disoriented Macedonian government is under strong external pressures on three fronts: the name issue, the implementation of the so-called May Agreement (that calls for redefinition of the internal order) and fast recognition of Kosovo - all in return for NATO membership. As for the latest, Macedonia is sandwiched between the internal (Albanian) and international pressure to swiftly recognize Kosovo and the certainty to gain an eternal enemy in Serbia, on which the country is dependent in economic, energy-supply and infrastructures that lead towards European countries.

The wide opening of the Kosovo market is weak consolation for the possible losses. In addition Macedonia is in a clinch between the “traditional friends” - Serbia and Greece. The latter already trades within the EU over its recognition of Kosovo if in return it gets guarantees that Macedonia is going to change its constitutional name.
In Montenegro the situation is the opposite: as soon as the government recognizes independent Kosovo it will meet a strong opposition from almost a half of its population.

Macedonia is enforced to bargain over its name (another exception in the international law), while Serbia is expected to trade with a part of its territory in hope to get European future. While Macedonia awaits the last proposal over the name dispute from the UN envoy, the American Niemitz, and he has already said that he is coming with “an offer that one can’t refuse” (which is a phrase typical for mafia and not diplomatic jargon) there is a strong and disheartening feeling that nothing much has changed since 19th century when a wise man said that the Balkan nations are nothing but a small change in the transactions among the Great powers...”

the fighting they did on their own.

You are aware that the allied forces at the Siege of Yorktown included more French (between their expeditionary force and their fleet) then Americans.

I got my lessons from some of my FRiends. You are so correct; and I was so un-educated.

I hope that that remains my most embarrassing post ever.

I bow to the informed!

If Russia gets involved, look for a LOT of trouble for Kosovo because of their alliance to Serbia.

““Kosovo’s unilateral declaration will first be recognized by some Islamic countries” The Jihad has been a success in Eastern Europe. The Death of the West has begun.
They will regret it. Mark my words.”

Not suprising, considering Russia is very upset by all this, being an allie of Serbia, and it will be interesting in the months and years ahead.

Is Bush planting the seeds for future trouble?

The last two words of your response are the only ones that makes sense ... they describe perfectly you own remarks. I’ll take them one at a time:

Every “sovereign” country in the world (except the U.S.) can’t successfuly defend themselves from external enemies but they can all make an attempt.

Kosovo already has the moral protection of the U.N.

The NATO troops already stationed in the area make it impossible for another Balkan War. You actually think the current leaders of the free world are stupid enough to risk this by recognizing Kosovo? Stupid people do not run the most powerful nations in the world, stupid people sit back and make stupid comments about people and events they don’t understand.

Kosovars are not Muslim terrorists. Another stupid comment.

Hillary doesn’t give a flip about whether her husband was right or wrong. All he is is her ticket back to the White House and now he’s helped her to lose that ticket.

Obama is NOT pro-Muslim. Not even close. Another stupid remark with no basis in fact.

McCain is one of the greatest war heroes the U.S. has ever produced and smart enough to become one of the most powerful members of the U.S. government ... and also smart enough to pass himself off as a conservative and get the Republican nomination to the presidency.

And Bush is probably one of the most intelligent and forsighted presidents this nation has ever had, possibly exceeded by his younger brother Jeb, but we’ll see in 8 years. You can’t be stupid and succeed in every endeavor you’ve attempted, up to and including becoming the most powerful man in the world.

There already is a world war going on, Islamic fundamentalists against everyone else. Bush sees this, you don’t. Now who’s stupid?

You seem to inhabit a parallel universe. Try googling Obama and Odinga. Or McCain and Kosovo. Or . . . .

Bush said he supports this. He was so eager to make his statement, he made it before the corrupt State Dept recognized the terrorist state.

What's this about Bush not having any control? If this is true, what is he doing in the oval office? Yeah I know the State Dept. is filled with very bad folks. But if Bush really has no control, there may just as well have been a coup.

I've apologized for my post many times.

I shall continue to do so.

I was horribly wrong and sorely uneducated about the horrific problems in Kosovo. I have since learned much and have sincerely repented.

Besides, the Albanians already have their own country - Albania. They desire a greater Albania of Kosovo, western Macedonia, southern Montenegro, Chameria in Greece, etc. This will encourage them.

They're just copying the Serb methodology.

Have you not seen what has been happeing with Condi Rice?

She wanted to publish an op ed of her own and NOBODY WOULD PUBLISHISH IT. The DBM censored a Secretary of State as irrelevant to the global diplomatic discussion.
