It was not state Sen. Kirk Watsons finest moment.
Asked by MSNBC host Chris Matthews last night, before a national audience with cameras rolling, to name some of Barack Obamas legislative accomplishments, the Austin lawmaker and Obama supporter came up blank.
Not a one.
Matthews asked again and again.
Dead air.
Im not going to be able to do it tonight, Watson finally acknowledged on the air.
The gaffe, which was making the rounds of national talk shows today and blazing across the Internet, surely is not high on Watsons short list of great accomplishments.

Will Texas Monthly, the liberal rag purporting to be a magazine, include this genius in their Bum Steer Award issue for ‘08? They never miss an opportunity to skin a Republican politician.
I thought Matthews loved Obama so much that he felt it in his legs.
Hillary broke his kneecaps so he doesn't feel the Obama tingle so much.
The MSM finally figured out that Obama is really an empty suit and that his rhetoric will only carry him so far...hopefully to the nomination. He will fall McGovern-like as his lack of a meaninful record of anything will come back to haunt him.
He ain't alone -- NOBODY can name any actual Obamaccomplishments, 'cause there aren't any.
What a stinky show.
Why didn’t Matthews ask the Hillary-ite to list Hillary’s accomplishments?
Well, and what ARE Obama’s greatest accomplishments?
That he voted three times against the infants born alive protection act in Illinois?
Or his recent sponsorship of a bill to subject the United States to an international tax of 0.7% of its gross national product?
The tingling in Matthews’ loins is but a memory.
OBAMACCOMPLISHMENTS that’s sooo funny.
Long title, world’s shortest book.
She has TONS of accomplishments. Literally TONS! She's one of the most accomplished members of the Senate. Her brilliance is unsurpassed. It's common knowledge that in the Senate cloak rooms, Senators of both parties often discuss her accomplishments. Many Senate staffers wonder how anything ever got done prior to her arrival there in 2001. Hillary has TONS of accomplishments. Admittedly, I can't think of any particular one off hand. But if I think of one, I'll try to get back to you.

It’s not a gaffe and it’s not Watson’s fault. Obama has no accomplishments.
Yeah, I’m not sure this is a smart line of attack for her. Obama isn’t running on his past, he’s all about the future. On the other hand Hillary is running as the experienced candidate, and what are her accomplishments again?
Excellent point, AAM. Even Obama’s mama can’t point anything he’s built.
Clinton: Yale Law, hired at a Little Rock law firm a few months after her husband was elected State Attorney General, quit her job after fourteen years to be First Lady for eight years and had lots of luncheons with famous people, spent seven years in the US Senate.
Obama: Harvard Law, found his own job at a Chicago law firm, left after four years to spend eight years in the Illinois state legislature, spent three years in the US Senate.
Every job Clinton has had her husband got for her. Every job Obama's had, his father's ancestry got for him.
Obama has everything Clinton has, plus charisma. Hillary's resume with Bill's charm.
The fact that both his parents jettisoned him at a young age explains much of the apparent formlessness of his personality.
