If the Left were consistent, they would forbid people from leaving the People’s Republic of Kali. This is the logic they force on the rest of us when we want to leave their government-imposed monopoly of “public” schools. Then the argument is that those leaving will be “taking resources” from those who don’t leave. Same when whites wanted to flee heavily-minority schools.

But, like the Taliban and AQI, the Left would rather die than give up their ideology, so the only thing left to do in a civil, peaceful society is to leaven and take all your financial assets with you. When enough good people, who love right and hate wrong, leave Kali, who will be left and what kind of self-consuming society will they sustain?

This is a shame, for at one time Kali was one of the great economic engines of the US, especially in leading-edge industries. There is no way I would start a new business in Kali today.

"State governments that think they can attract jobs and people, and grow their economies, by taxing their citizens at a higher rate than their neighbors are sadly mistaken," said Democratic Arkansas state Sen. Steve Faris, ALEC's 2008 national chairman.

A Democrat said this?

Have you noticed any California tourism ads where you live? Here in Ohio, Schwarzenegger and a handful of Hollywood celebs are appearing in an “employment” ad. Job skill requirements are depicted as playing golf, tasting wine, receiving back rubs, etc. Schwarzenegger delivers the last line, “When can you start?” It made me wonder if they were trying to deliver a dual message: spend your tourism dollars here or apply for a job. “It’s all good.”

It was an affective ad. Made me wonder if we should spend our federal tax refund on a vacation to see the Reagan library.

The State thought they had a good thing going with all the Prop. 13 homes selling at userous prices. Little did they know, that people were just waiting for a chance to leave this burdensome state.

Taxed at every turn, manipulated every day, overburdened with paper work and nanny laws, they are leaving.

I hope those leaving do not take their California cash and attitudes with them. Please, blend with those that admit you. Don’t spread this arrogant lifestyle to the rest of the country.

Someday, maybe Sacramento will learn that we need less governing and more faith and wisdom in our leaders.

And all the so-called conservative Republicans in California just could not get enough of Schwarzenegger. Don’t blame me, I voted for McClintock.

All part of the big liberal plan. The illegals are survivors and will be in hog heaven as real estate comes available cheap.

I’ve thought for a long time that where people choose to live and work says more about them and what they really think politically.

The trends from liberal to conservative areas, both in terms of regional, state, and local (eg, cities to suburbs) tells buckets about what people view as the superior ideology and lifestyle.

Actions speak louder than words. Goodbye California. You were once great, but grew fat and happy until your arteries clogged beyond repair.

Makes you wonder what COUNTRY is going to throw open their borders, and with open arms, TAKE IN AMERICA’S so called evil rich when the socialist’s come into power. How many of the rich have moved their banking off shore so that they can leave and not have their accounts attached by the Soviet American government??? Some smart small, nice country, is going to throw open the gates and say: HEY RICH AMERICANS WHO WANT FREEDOM, LOW TAXES, AND GET TO KEEP YOUR MONEY, COME ON DOWN!!!! Then, they will leave America, like those leaving Mexicaforniastan, and take that socialized medicine money with them.

California needs a law that allows people to leave California but they have to leave their money. This is more evidence that taxes are going to go up for the lower income people who can’t afford to leave.

Big dummies. That difference in spedning versus income isn’t from people leaving and the loss of their taxes, it is from millions of illegal aliens moving in and the State spending welfare on them.

That’s good. Let all the crazy-ass liberals go to California. Let them totally destroy the state. All sensible people pick a state - preferably warm - and go there.

If our national leaders could learn from observation they would see a population fleeing from, high taxes, illegal immigrants, terrible schools, social indoctrination and sexual license.

But they will not learn and this story will be repeated elsewhere.

I've been making this point for many years. The habit of "soaking the rich" is stupid. The "rich" have the means to go elsewhere. I happily chewed up some of my real estate equity to relocate from San Diego, CA to Pocatello, ID in Dec 2000. My cost of living plummeted. I escaped the endless anti-gun laws and traffic jams. I also vastly reduced the number of illegal aliens around my living spaces.

Last week, I relocated my son from Chula Vista, CA to my 2nd house in Pocatello. His real estate business took a big hit from the sub-prime mortgage problems. A couple weeks ago, there was a murder committed 75 yards from my son's front door. Three black males pulled two brother's in their 20's out of a vehicle in the condominium parking lot. One was killed on the spot, the other was kidnapped and released a couple miles away. It was in a "nice" part of town. The Eastlake area of Chula Vista.

My son is rapidly spinning up to resume his real estate business with an Idaho broker's license in addition to his CA broker's license. It is a lot more favorable business environment.

Are California rich moving or just purchasing or renting a second home for tax purposes?

Where I live I see Bentley GTs that live here year round but are are reged in other states. Same with Motor Coaches.

It’s cheaper to rent a place in another state claim residency there, than to pay the CA DMV fees.

Same for Boats.

As the US ages the older middle class will migrate to the cheaper areas.

PS I had no idea that the US had balkanized.

Wow. I never knew it was so terrible to live in Los Angeles. Housing prices are going down and people are leaving.

Yes. It is terrible. All of you who are leaving, better get and go. I'll just have to stay here and suffer.
