It is my thought that the NYT's un-substantiated story about a possible affair with the tele-com representative is nothing more than a warning shot across the bow of the straight talk express. I believe this was in retaliation for Mccain's direct assault on Obama's record or lack thereof after the recent primary.
The real media onslaught has not even begun. The truth or proof of allegations is going to mean very little to these people. The allegation will do the damage. It was a universal axiom that the MSM was going to turn on him.

Anne Coulter had an article stating the reason (in her opinion) that there are no great men like President Reagan running for office today. Ironically or purposely, it is Mccain's fault because of the advent of Mccain-Feingold. Now the liberal media can fire at him with impunity. Looks like instant Karma is out to get him.

If there is something that we don’t know about presumptive nominee McCain, it would have been better to know about it by now.
Of course, I suppose that it may have better served the media’s purpose if they had kept their powder dry till late October. That way it won’t matter if the charges are true or false. Let’s keep in mind that the story is according to “unnamed sources close to McCain”.
It really doesn’t matter whether the charges are true or false, who the candidate is, except that he is a Republican; this is what we can continue to expect from the press.

It is quite obvious in her remarks of late. She went on a socialist tirade in that speech at UCLA. Her correction to the “for the first time in my adult life....” was to say “I am proud” she did not clarify that she may have had any pride in the US before her husband ran for the position of president.
