This is great stuff...once he gets the nomination.
Let’s first allow him to dispose of the queen, the we go after him for his emptysuitedness.

Just as the NYT has jumped the gun in attacking McCain. They should wait until it is too late for Republicans to replace him. If he melts down at some point in the next 4 months, the party could pick a different candidate at the convention.

Obama will be the next President. We are getting what we deserve. Conservatism will rescue us from the mess Obama and Reid and Pelosi and the RINOs will create. I survived Carter and an overwhelming Democrat majority. We got Reagan, who always said that there must be a pony under all that horses**t we had to endure. 2012 will be a great year!

There's nobody likie a Reagan on the scene & if so the media will denounce him so bad that nobody will vote for him. More probable, he couldn't get the pubbie nomination. Some years ahead you will see that we are in the "21st Century Dark Ages" & this will continue for many generations.

I think part of Obama’s appeal is that he speaks very well, and speaks in enough generalities that people come way thinking they support his stands on issues, though they don’t know what those issues are.

Yep. The guy sounds like a tabloid horoscope. Vague enough to fit anyone, rosy enough to be enticing...

How can one support his stance on any issues when he never mentions them?

That crowd does not want to hear about the issues, it's about how they feel. No thought required.

Thanks for the Lileks gem! I love some of those calls from people who think recycling is (or should be) a presidential priority! Let’s all HOPE they forget to CHANGE their calendars and vote FOR UNITY on the wrong day, LOL.

The same thing with Peter Sellers in “Being There”. Completely vacuous and empty, but everyone made him into what they wanted him to be.

I just listened to a podcast of these interviews. The interviewees were just amazing. . . I’m for OB because he’ll pay my college tuition, he’ll fix ‘global warming,’ he’ll bring us together. When admitting that several hundred thousand jihadists want to kill us, they had no idea how OB would protect us but they love his being against any war! Absolutely idiotic, ill-informed, and irrational. This is what we get from our public trough. . . no education whatsoever, just feelings.

Let’s see, the most common reasons given that I’m supposed to “get over it” and vote for McCain...

1) He’s a republican

2) He’s not Obama or Hillary

Yeah, we can laugh at the Obamiacs. The reasons our side gives are so much more intellectual this campaign. We’re screwed.

>>If you vote against Hillary you will be labeled a sexist by your own wife.

You must be kidding...my wife is vehemently against Hitlery, and even more so against Obama.

Her theory about Obama’s popularity is that it has to do with his name: Americans have been so dumbed-down by the public schools that they embrace the candidate whose name most resembles baby talk.

He will meet with the Iranians, personally, and conduct a frank personal interrogation about their nuclear intentions

*******************************************

We know their intentions. The little turd that runs their country said Israel and the United States are going to disappear. What’s left to discuss?

2012 a great year? Dream on. In four years the dems will fix it that even alligators can vote. We’ll never see another Republican president. (Remember those 20,000,000 wetbacks waiting in the wings!)
