For the benefit of our country, I hope and pray respect for the office of the president returns with the new president in 2009. The abuse the presidency of George Bush was forced to tolerate has been nothing short of obscene.
Just last week, someone referred to the president as "that bastard Bush." The former first lady, senator and presidential candidate gently nodded her head in approval and answered the foul mouth with, "Well, there is a lot of truth in that."
For years now Mr. Bush has been called a liar, betrayer, dummy, bastard, fear monger, murderer just to name a few. The_Democratic_Party has spent the last seven years attacking the man and the office. Now the next president will attempt to sit in the Oval_Office and command respect. Be it Democrat or Republican good luck!
I wonder if the Democrats have ever taken a moment out of hating George Bush to consider the long-term damage they will have inflicted on the presidency by attacking everything President Bush said or did. They made a cottage industry of these attacks two years into a war talking about how the "dummy" duped them into it. Who is the idiot in that equation? Being duped by a dummy is nothing I would list on my resume if I were applying for the job as leader of the free world.
I can only imagine the outcome if the attacks Mr. Bush has weathered had been leveled on George Washington while fighting the British prior to becoming our first president? Could you see Mr. Lincoln being called a liar and a crook during the Civil War? How effective would FDR have been fighting the Nazis if Charles Curtis was screaming, "He betrayed us. He played on our fears," as Al Gore did?

BDS?
Create and foster the monster that is hate, then bring in a false messiah.
saying democrat and scu%bag in the same sentence is being repetitious.
Bush Derangement Syndrome
Excellent
Thanks, but it’s just too easy to demonstrate the truth about liberal scum-bags. :)
While I do respect the office and did even when it was soiled by the last president, I really hope to see a return of respect for the American people by government.
It shows what the liberal Socialist dems represent to America — NOTHING -— and that is their whole platform -— NOTHING -— they can only defame, defile, destroy character -— I guess the job of dumbing down America has been pretty successful since the Dims are still around -— and WHY? FOR WHAT? To feed a class of voters that just want to hang on the government teet?? They are selling America for votes -— and all they can do is bash Bush. They are NOTHING TO AMERICA — they have NOTHING for this country and its people.
Nuff said.
BDS—Bush Derangement Syndrome. Term was coined by columnist Dr. Charles Krauthhammer.
Clinton’s loathe the military and it really shows in that picture.I’d like to slap that look off her face.
If there’s an upside to this, it’s that I won’t feel very constrained in my own visceral loathing of whichever two legged cockroach they’re going to inflict on us.
Yes.
But we did much the same to Clinton, those years he was in office. He didn't deserve it, each and every time.
I dimly recall attempting to defend an action or two of Clinton's [though I cannot remember precisely what they were, on those rare occassions he was actually right, heheh!] but I do recall somewhat clearer being verbally assualted here on FR for trying.
If I recall also, this non-stop criticism stuff was going along pretty well, way back to the Johnson admin., picking up tempo through Nixon, abating to being mainly grousing noises with Ford, then Carter, after which the vehemence picked up again, aimed from the left towards Reagan.
The difference was, the non-stop aspects, were not so front and center, in-your-face, as they are today.
Bush has certainly been falsly accussed of all manner of horrible things. Not only is that grevious on it's surface, but it can cloud those issues when true & honest criticism is called for, regardless of Party affiliation.
We all end up the worse off for it, too.
I wish I had a bumper sticker with those two pics on it.
Yes, given black America has become the very engine that propels Our Republic I think it was worth destroying the nation for a generation over the issue.
The difference is that it was nearly all true about Clinton.
