Six killed, including children, in Memphis shooting (Three others wounded).

I remember back in the eighties in Toledo, two white nurses were brutally killed, and their bodies found in bushes. Witnesses said they were last seen with their boy friends at a bar. Police found out later the boy friends had wanted the women to become hookers to pay for the boy friends drug habit,and the nurses refused. The idiots were caught when cops found the womens credit cards, purses, etc; at the morons’ homes. I noticed the local excuse for a newspaper and the local TV stations only put up pics of the nurses-not the boyfriends/killers. I told everyone at work -’they’re black or mexican-watch and see,’ SIX MONTHS LATER-they were found guilty and sentenced-ONLY THEN did I catch a glimpse of the perps on one local station (yes, they were black). Remember the guy who went on a shooting rampage on a train or subway a number of years ago? The one to turned out to be black, and only shot/killed/wounded white people? It was at least a week before his picture came out(and that may have been on a then fledgling internet). Bernard Goetz, who was protecting himself,on the other hand.... Thank God for the Internet-although I do get pissed at it now and then, it’s become impossible for the media to hide this stuff any more.

Sorry, but regardless of what you say here, these types of incidents (mass senseless murders) are clearly occurring at increasing frequency. This is not even debatable.

24 hour news has brought events that we would not have heard about 20 years ago on a 1 hour news program into our homes. Things aren’t getting worse, there’s just more airtime to fill.

As I stated earlier, of course the level of news coverage has expanded in recent decades. Everyone knows this, and this is not news.

Again, for those that fail to read, the fact of the matter is, mass murders that have occurred in the U.S. in the past 50 years or so, always get national coverage. Mass murders are not just local, hometown news events.

The teenage girls were expressing their freedom and individuality as they see it in this day and time. In my youth if we acted like that our parents would quickly learn about it and take action. Nowadays if parents take action they are viewed as abusive. Parents that that insist on traditional values are thought to be backward.

I’m proud to have been a backward parent. Today my children are in the late 20’s and early 30’s and live more that 500 miles away, but there is seldom a day that goes by that we don’t have some kind of contact and that includes their spouses.

every white person and probably most black people KNOW that when a crime is committed and the perps are not even described that they are probably black...

just like I would expect child molesters and pornographers to be white.....

not all sterotypes are right, but many are......

The old school child rearing was defintely preferable to the”I’m friends with my kid”approach.
Children already HAVE friends.What they need in their lives are responsible adults to teach them right from wrong.
