A controversial new Hillary Clinton attack ad is causing an Internet stir among critics who claim it deliberately darkens Barack Obamas skin color. A posting on the liberal site DailyKos.com shows side-by-side screen grabs of Barack Obama taken during a debate with Clinton in Cleveland last week. The screen grab used in the Clinton ad shows a clearly darker-skinned Obama, prompting some to wonder if it was done to highlight his race. Despite the strong similarities between the ad on the DailyKos site and the original ad on Clintons Web site, Clinton spokesman Jay Carson said he spoke with the campaigns chief ad maker, Mandy Grunwald, who said emphatically the ad on DailyKos was not their ad. We dont know what is up there, but it is not our ad, Carson said. However, he said that Obamas image was darkened, as part of a saturation-desaturation process typical in commercial production and sent in an example of a Clinton ad featuring the candidate and the original footage of Clinton delivering the campaign speech used in the ad. He said both candidates have done it in their ads, and that there was no ulterior motive behind doing so in the campaigns most recent ad. One posting on the DailyKos site, though, charged that while darkening footage may be considered standard practice for political ads trying to cast the target as sinister, it is not an acceptable excuse. Even if you accept that as normal practice, its still a dirty one, and it takes on a more charged meaning when youre using it to attack someone in your own party whos already fighting against a lot of racism in the false Muslim smears, the posting said. This is, at best, the worst of politics as usual. The Obama campaign had no comment.

What’s the problem
Black is beautiful
So they made him more beautiful
“agree...I wish Rush would have just kept his mouth closed. There is already a movement of Republicans voting for Obama to make sure her ass is out of the race. The sooner shes history, the better for everyone. I believe Obama will be a much easier candidate to beat.”
I agree. Also Sean Hannity should keep a lid on his Obama bashing at this point. Get rid of the Toons, and then move on to take on Mr. O.
There’s plenty of time to do this.....
That's next week.
So Hillary’s multi-party supporters are actually darkening his face in the ads? I retract the comment about Fox News. It’s only reporting on the old feminist-Klu-Klux-Klan kind of ties. After black men won the vote, Susan B. Anthony started traveling with the infamous racist Democrat, George Train. She refused to speak against lynching. It’s nothing new.
You are very wrong. There is a "Rug Rat" youth movement all over college campuses add to that all those who think he has a message because he talks in platitudes, these are the people who could care less if ever says anything about the issues that matter to this country because his voice of hope makes them feel good. These groups of people are energized. If he wins the nomination we can't beat him with McCain. And it will not matter what dirty scandals are true of him these energized air heads will not believe the truth about him ... he is their "hope"!
Take him out of the picture and all of these energized supporters go away come November. They will not be there in the same numbers voting for Hillary! If he
Why would that be bad? I hear he’s not black enough anyway.
This whole controversy just reinforces the implication that "darker" skin is worse and "lighter" skin is better.
The whole picture is darker, not just his skin tone. the background, his suit. This is an overreaction...many more to follow
exactly...I remember the vampire eyes. This looks at the most, inadvertant but making and issue of it where there is none is the racist excuse for getting in to a twist. Sort of reminds me of Islamists, all Jihad, all the time.
LOL And wonders never CEASE either.
At any rate, I feel confident we'll beat either of them.
This was true even in the last two elections. But this is the era of the social networking sites, YouTube, text messaging, etc. All of these connections will energize more and more sheep. If they think their participating in the primaries helped get Hussein the nomination ... then all the social networking, their iPods and cell phones will keep pulling their attention spans back into the fold. We have not seen anything that will compare to what will happen if he is the demRat nominee!
Barack the magic Negro?
Hillary the killer of how many and enabler of Bill the sexual predator.
Gee I wonder which is worse?
If Obama was much whiter, he'd be an albino.
Louis Farrakan says”He’s half white but he’s all right.”
That’s not the same picture.
Look at the left white collar. There is more collar showing in the picture on the right.
There are shadows on both collars in the right that are not on the picture in the left.
BUMP
Not surprising. The Democrats in Louisiana did that to Bobby Jindal when he ran against Kathleen Blanco a few years ago for Governor of LA. They created flyers and passed them around areas of white voters creating the notion that Jindal was black in hopes they’d find enough folks who’d never vote for a black man. They did, too, and Jindal lost, but not by very much. Fortunately, the voters of LA got to know him over the last four years, and this time, when he ran for Governor again, he won the election.
