Clinton Hints At Sharing Ticket With Obama

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hinted at the possibility of a democratic "dream ticket" with Sen. Barack Obama.

Speaking on the Early Show on CBS, Clinton said "that may be where this is headed, but we have to decide who is on the top of the ticket."

Clinton said the race between her and Obama remains "incredibly close," with just "smidgens of difference" between them.

Clinton's remarks after her campaign won two big states yesterday: Ohio and Texas. She also won Rhode Island. The wins enabled her campaign to break Obama's 12-state winning streak and pick up some momentum of its own.

Speaking later on the Early Show, Obama congratulated Clinton on her victories while maintaining he would be able to wrap up the democratic nomination.

"We still have close to an insurmountable lead in delegates," Obama said. Obama said his campaign had won nearly twice as Clinton as well as a greater share of the popular vote.

See, this is why encouraging a Clinton was SUCH a bad idea. There is NO way this threat would be happening if Obama continued on his momentum, none. No way would Obama put Hillary in as Veep.

New tag.

Good points! Just ask President Dukakis how well those “increased” Dem primary voters helped him.

I do think there was an element of panic in Obama’s speech last night and his walking off from the press the other day. Not necessarily about losing, but afraid to reply in any way that wouldn’t incriminate himself.

OTOH, he was replying very promptly to every Hillary charge recently. He came out with the 3AM commercial response within 24 hrs.

At first it appeared to work, but then it seemed petty and ineffective. All Hillary had to do was say one thing and Obama would jump. For someone leading a movement, it’s kind of a nerdy way of defending one’s self.

Clinton Hints At Sharing Ticket With Obama

On The Early Show, co-anchor Harry Smith said to Clinton, “We talked to a lot of people in Ohio who said there really isn’t that significant a difference between you two, and they’d like to see you both on the ticket.”

“Well, that may, you know, be where this is headed,” Clinton said. “But of course, we have to decide who’s on the top of the ticket, and I think that the people of Ohio very clearly said that it should be me.”...........

MSM UPDATE!
Media Protects Hillary’s Role in Bill Clinton’s Civil Fraud Case in Los Angeles
Hillary and Bill Clinton have made a significant issue about how the press is treating Hillary unfairly in their hyper-critical reporting on her and their “softball” reporting on Barak Obama. Hillary maintains she has been fully investigated by the media and Barak hasn’t!

Hillary Complaining About Media Mistreatment

As the Tony Rezko trial begins in Chicago, Clinton and her surrogates are linking Obama to Rezko and the media is speculating about whether Obama will be called to testify as a witness in the case. Obama admits he received $85,000 in contributions from Rezko which Obama has donated to charity rather than keep

Yet the civil fraud trial of Bill Clinton, Grammy’s producer Gary Smith and Clinton intimate and fundraiser Jim Levin, for defrauduing Hillary’s largest donor in 2000, which has been pending in Los Angeles since 2003, and now preparing for a November, 2008 trial has NEVER been announced by the mainstream media.

I can’t believe you even linked to that lame post. Not only was the poster new to FR the person could not spell. I think when it comes down to it McCain can beat Hillary or Obama or Hillary/Obama, and I am not even a McCain fan. But I think when people go to the polls they will think hard and long about who they elect.

Can anyone think of an instance in American history when a Presidential candidate offered the Vice-Presidency to his defeated rival? I can’t.

I don’t know if I’d like Hillary on top.

...or bottom...or sideways...

I suppose if they formed the "Dream Ticket," they would need a campaign song. They'd already have most of the Bill Clinton voters, so Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow is out. Maybe they could capture the youth vote with Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit as the theme. Between Obama, Hillary, Democratic Insects, and Bill.....the lyrics would fit.

Do you REALLY think the Clintons think about the party --except as a vehicle for their personal ambitions.

Hillary, if given a choice, will chose a VP who will best help her achieve her life-long ambition, IMO.

Unifying the party in order to beat McCain is the vehicle to help achieve her life-long ambition.

If Obama refuses to be hillarys VP, he will gain respect and be in a great position in 4 or 8 years. And she will be toast.

Hillary will get top billing because of supposed experience and age.....

Obama will get the VP spot which will shore the primary experience issue against him and leave him prepared to assume the presidency after Hillary’s two terms. His age would leave him in a good position.

This strategy would assure the Demoncrats a minimum of 12 years in the Whitehouse and possibly 16 years if they don’t step in it.....

I wished we could have knocked Clinton out of the race yesterday. I think the Republicans voting for Clinton have made both strategic and tactical errors last night.

I couldn't agree more.
