Clinton Hints At Sharing Ticket With Obama

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hinted at the possibility of a democratic "dream ticket" with Sen. Barack Obama.

Speaking on the Early Show on CBS, Clinton said "that may be where this is headed, but we have to decide who is on the top of the ticket."

Clinton said the race between her and Obama remains "incredibly close," with just "smidgens of difference" between them.

Clinton's remarks after her campaign won two big states yesterday: Ohio and Texas. She also won Rhode Island. The wins enabled her campaign to break Obama's 12-state winning streak and pick up some momentum of its own.

Speaking later on the Early Show, Obama congratulated Clinton on her victories while maintaining he would be able to wrap up the democratic nomination.

"We still have close to an insurmountable lead in delegates," Obama said. Obama said his campaign had won nearly twice as Clinton as well as a greater share of the popular vote.

That poll is meaningless at this point. Obama has had positive press and clinton has had relatively negative press up until now. Now watch as polls will show how clinton will stomp McCain.

Despite Obama’s so-called insurmountable lead in delegates, they are splitting them about 50/50. There’s no way that Obama or Hillary can accumulate the required 2100 or so delegates it would take to out-right claim the nomination.

It’s going to come down to the super delegates, uncommitted delegates.

That means the Dem Convention is going to decide. I think they’ll choose a Clinton/Obama ticket, the thinking being that Obama is young and inexperienced, and the VP slot will give him the gravitas for either the 2012 or the 2016 campaign.

Bought the MSM line!!! It wasn't a huge win, the delegate count hasn't changed in any manner that means anything. And according to the math she still cannot win.

I suppose I should have placed a billboard saying sarcasm on my post.

Blood will spill but it won’t be by buckets it will be drops, and then the dems will forget about it and come together. Essentially the beast and Obama are the same, and a majority of dem voters won’t forget that.

I agree, I don’t like the idea of ol’ man McCain going up against a twofer identity ticket at all.

And how things change in a few days, from when Obama thought he was en route to ridding himself of her!

She would need him on her ticket. But he would not be helped by having her on his.

DESPERATION TIME.

These 2 on a ticket would be a hanging softball for McCain to knock out of the park with a little conservatism.

McCain's conservatism would be as phoney as Clinton's and Obama's respect for each other.

Overheard on the Staten Island Ferry this morning....”Obama doesn’t have any experience. He’s too cocky....at least Hillary has exprience and knows what she’s doing...and she has her husband there to fall back on... People should get a clue and not vote for Obama.

People should get a clue and stop a Clinton/Obama ticket
or an Obama/Clinton ticket. Heaven help us all if they get in.

I've been saying this from the start. If the dems have a Hitlery/Osama ticket then McInsane is toast,

Agreed.

The sad part is that the very influential conservative talk show hosts will have been the critical deciding factor. According to Michelle Malkin this morning, 10% of the Texas and Ohio voters were GOP crossovers. In my opinion, the crossovers driven by the conservative media were enough to give Hillary both states.

They (the talk show hosts) were saying that Obama should be knocked off first because he's the most difficult to defeat and the most dangerous. Then they would go after Clinton. Well, now they'll get both on the same ticket.

What I can't understand for the life of me is that for 8 years that Bill was in office, they went after him and Hillary with both barrels blazing and now when we finally had Hillary on the ropes and the opportunity to shut the white house door on her and her husband, they come to her rescue.

Then, a light, just like in the commercials, goes on above my head and I started connecting the dots. I asked myself, why would even the most ardent anti-Hillary conservative media and public figures all of a sudden do a 180 degree and either outright endorse her or urge the audience to engage in cross over voting. It couldn't be a coincidence that the timing was almost synchronized, it had to be planned but by whom?

Well, which of the two Democratic candidates has a political machine built up during 8 years of power in the White House? Which candidate has a long trail of dead and injured people behind them? Which candidate has a history of having wreaked financial ruin on their opponents and critics through the IRS and other governmental agencies? Which candidate has a stable of attorneys that are nothing more than thugs, at their back and call and have been and still are part of their organization?

To me, the answer to my question as to why the overwhelming Hillary support all of a sudden over the airwaves is, the Clinton thugs got to them. Either their careers, family or personal secrets were threatened and it was too high a price to pay and they folded, right on cue. It was not a coincidence!!!

>I think the Republicans voting for Clinton have made both strategic and tactical errors last night.

I am quite sure that you are correct about that. - Quite sure.

Dumb-ass conservatives like Rush and Hannity just got Mrs. Clinton elected president.
Ultimately, Obama would have been much easier to beat in the general election. The country would not have voted for such a lightweight with no record...not to mention his connections to people like William Ayers and Tony Rezko.
