The issue of shutting the border is first and foremost and has only to do with border states.

The 2 Mexican illegals that recently killed 5 american teens were not in southern border states. Do those 5 young lives lost not count in this discussion?

Illegal immigration is not a border-state issue. It is a NATIONAL issue.

You're missing my point. Yes, immigration is a national issue and all of the lives taken by illegals count no matter what the discourse is. The point was that the first step is to close the borders down to the liking of the border state governors. In other words, let the governors take over the right and ability to shut the borders away from the Federal Government. It is a job that is better done by the state and its National Guard and the land owners within those states. Someone in Michigan does not need to be involved in how Arizona shuts its border. Give the power to those states to do what is necessary and then we can begin talking about what to do with the illegals already on soil and those workers that would like to come over legally.
