Spitzer is wearing a rep (striped) tie, not a club tie, in the photo. Strictly speaking, a rep tie has repeated silk sections sewn together, independent of the pattern, but over the years the term has come to mean a striped tie. (Useless information from summers home from college spent working at a men's store.)

Evidently coverage in the Mann Act is very general. I think the facts here probably would have been prosecuted during the first half of the 20th century, but not now.

He was thinking with the “wrong” head.
He also used the telephone and mailed the money across state lines in addition to transporting the woman across state lines-—all federal offenses. And all of this benefits organized crime.
