In Islamism's Cross Hairs, Mohamad Sifaoui is interviewed by Middle East Quarterly on his article: "I Consider Islamism to Be Fascism"

MEQ: Do you believe that moderate Islam exists? Sifaoui: Of course, it does. If the majority of Muslims were not moderate, Islamists would have destroyed the Western world a long time ago. Despite its technological lead, its nuclear power, and all its armies, the Western world would never be able to face an Islamist world entirely convinced by the terrorist cause. One billion people supporting Al-Qaeda would reduce the rest of the world to ashes. Islam contains violent texts that need not be applicable today. Islam is a religion of moderation. I know because I studied theology for four years. Perhaps 20 percent of Muslims on the planet must be totally reeducated. We have to fight them politically, ideologically, and also militarily. Western societies do not fight them well; whenever they try to do so, they end up strengthening them.

In 1999, the French government granted Sifaoui political asylum after he received death threats both from Algerian Islamists and the military. In Paris, Sifaoui works at the French weekly Marianne. Between October 2002 and January 2003, he infiltrated an Al-Qaeda cell in France in order to research his book, "My assassin brothers: How I infiltrated an Al-Qaeda cell." A former intern at Le Figaro and The Weekly Standard, interviewed him in Paris on September 12, 2007, after meeting him at a 9-11 ceremony on the Champ de Mars.

Moron. If the majority of Muslims were not moderate, westerners would have reduced the Islamic world to ashes a long time ago. Since the west obtained dominance, beginning after the siege of Vienna, it has has the ability to destroy the Arab world, particularly since 1900. That they have not is because they became civilized faster than the Arabs did, and now are so woosified that they may not be able to fight back even though they could end Islam in one week if they wanted to.

Wrong!I disagree.Like many “analysts” from the muslim world SIFAOUI can’t or don’t want to see that there is a real problem with ISLAM itself since its begining.
And it can’t be reduced to the old fascism

This is a lot like saying the Christian Bible is mostly decent book, as long you can take out some of the more extreme passages.

The followers of the religion won't let you do that. You have to take it as it is, or reject it utterly. I reject Islam utterly. The moderate Muslims are confused. They are following a religion that they don't understand. If they did understand their own religion, they would all be strapping explosives to their bodies.

It's devil worship, pure and simple. The moderate Muslims don't grasp that. But maybe they will some day.

Over 40 percent of Muslims on the planet are illiterate, so apparently a total of over 60 percent are mentally deficient. This is surprising to me because I would have guessed the number would be closer to 100 percent.

Sorry, 1400 years of history beg to differ with your four-year interpretation. I’m guessing that by “studied theology” you mean at some state sponsored or supported educational facility, complete with an ‘approved’ curriculum and syllabus... Yep, nothing wrong with that picture.

Islam has been stuck in the seventh century for over 1400 years and has been in a constant state of war with civilized peoples and nations throughout that time. Their own playbook, the quran, demands that they wage jihad to place Islam as the only religion on the earth (the global caliphate) and they have but three ways to deal with the infidel (us): Convert them, Enslave them, or Kill them. I don’t like the choices.
Islam is a cancer on humanity and needs to be excised, IMO.

Civilization has become a double edged sword, of sorts.

Since the West wasn’t limited by the idea that the “Koran is a perfect and COMPLETE (ie, it’s blasphemy to pursue learning outside of its dictates) work”,

we were able to develop technology such that we weren’t overrun by the Muslim hoards.

But, we have, as you say, become so woosified that we can’t even identify their culture as inferior and DANGEROUS.

Islam is WAR and VIOLENCE by its very nature (violent jihad is a REQUIREMENT), it is TERRORISM because their technological development stopped in the 13th century and they don’t have the power to fight a modern war.

Fascism, without evoking all its particularities, bears similarities to trends also present in Islamism. I am, of course, making a reference to their will to exterminate the Jews.

Isn't the author confusing Fascism with Nazism? Italy's Fascism, unlike Nazism, wasn't obsessed with Jew-hatred.
