Obama says his pastor 'pained and angered me' 'Denounces' anti-American, racist rhetoric, insists he never heard such talk in person

Responding to mounting controversy over radical anti-American and racist statements by his pastor, Sen. Barack Obama issued a statement today to the Christian Broadcasting Network saying he strongly condemns and denounces remarks by Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. that disparaged the country or degraded people.

Obama referred to the "firestorm over the last few days" from unearthed video segments of Wright's sermons that the senator described as "some inflammatory and appalling remarks he made about our country, our politics, and my political opponents."

The front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination said he was not in attendance when Wright made any of the statements and never heard such talk in private conversations.

"Let me say at the outset that I vehemently disagree and strongly condemn the statements that have been the subject of this controversy," Obama said. "I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies. I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it's on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Rev. Wright that are at issue."

Late today, Wright stepped down from his formal role in Obama's campaign, as a member of his African American Religious Leadership Committee, said the Politico's Ben Smith, citing campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor.

I have learned that a man, and his wife, cannot live together unless they share the same values and beliefs.

Eventually, if they don't, they will separate.

Barak and his wife share the same angry (ANGRY!!!) beliefs - which are racist in nature and not based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

He may be the next President, but I am just one vote. Should he become President, I will look on this as yet another sign that Christ will be coming back soon to Judge the world.

Obama’s denial and denunciation is simply not credible.

This preacher has been an “activist” in this way for many years. His CHRISTMAS SERMON was hate filled for Heaven’s sake. You do not remain a member for 20+ years and pay tens of thousands in donation and not be aware of this level of hate and mongering. Whether you sat there when he actually said it or not. (which I do not believe).

Sorry Hussein, I simply do not believe you.

Your own actions (not saluting the flag, not wearing the flag on your lapel), your wife’s statements and activities, all of these things begin to add up now.

You are backing away now because it is politically expediant, but by your own measure, your judgement now is in abject and total question. You are not qualified or judgementaly capable or qoualified of leading this nation.

You knew this man...you identified with him...he married you...he baptized your children...you called him your mentor and to whom you went for counsel...and now those chickens have come home to roost.

This story’s starting to get legs. Eventually McCain will need to use it at the right time unless the dems panic early and go for hillary.

Either way, McCain’s almost certain to win the general now.

20 years this fraud went to that racist church.

Never saw anything wrong until now.

Do you listen to the rhetoric from the Dems? Drop the expletives and this is what the Dem mainstream thinks.

It’s shame this didn’t come out during the GENERAL election. Sigh.

And you just KNOW the Republicans knew about it.....and didn't use it.

What you say would be true if we were discussing doctrinal issues. We’re not. We’re discussing the issue of a pastor using the pulpit to spout racist and anti-American garbage.

When I asked the question “When’s Barakobama gonna leave Wright’s church?”, I was using sarcasm. I know he won’t leave. He’s a product of that church. There was another thread on this yesterday about a couple interviews Wright gave in 2007 about his relationship with Obama. He essentially said they’d discussed the fact that should Obama run, he’d be criticized for their relationship and they’d have to distance themselves.

Well, If Obama has been unaware of the beliefs of his pastor, and such beliefs disgust him, why would they need to have those conversations in 2007?

Obama is a fake, a fraud, a liar and a racist. The truth is out. It merely needs broad dissemination.

Apparently, one Lutheran pastor (of my synod) agrees with me on Obama's leaving. Check out The DUmmie FUnnies.

You’re right. When trying to distance himself from Wright’s hate America and hate the white man speeches, Buraq likens Wright to an uncle that says some crazy things sometimes. He wants us not to judge him because of his “uncle’s” remarks. Remarks? How about hate America/Whitie diatribes and sermons?

Here is Baraq’s dilemma: He isn’t related to Wright. Wright’s not just Baraq’s crazy old uncle, and by Baraq’s own admission Wright has been a mentor to him and they’ve been close for 20 years.

None of us can help who we are related to by blood, but we damn sure can choose the company we keep and the people we hold in high regard. Baraq chose many years ago to follow this anti-American racist who mocks Christianity. Now it’s time for Americans to reject Baraq and all that he stands for because it is quite clear that under the phony layers of this slick politician, all that’s there is an anti-American bigoted liar.

From Dreams of My Father, “ I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”. Barack Hussein Obama

From ‘Dreams of my Father’, “The emotion between the races could never be pure, even love was tarnished by the desire to find in the other some element that was missing in ourselves. Whether we sought out our demons or salvation, the other race (WHITE) would always remain just that: menacing, alien, and apart.” Barack Hussein Obama

From Dreams Of My Father: “That hate hadn’t gone away,” he wrote, BLAMING “WHITE PEOPLE — some CRUEL, some IGNORANT, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.” Barack Hussein Obama

From ‘Dreams Of My Father’, “There were enough of us on campus to constitute a tribe, and when it came to hanging out many of us chose to function like a tribe, staying close together, traveling in packs,” he wrote. “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on,to show your LOYALTY TO THE BLACK MASSES, TO STRIKE OUT and name names” Barack Hussein Obama

I forgot about the fact that Karl Rove said that Obama hadn’t even read his own book. Thanks for the reminder.

Hannity had the new minister of Trinity UCC on his show last night. It’s a good bet that this is the guy who wrote the book. He’s slicker than Obama and Wright put together, and just as full of hate.

What with preacher Jerry’s friendship with Louis Farrakhan established, I’d say you’re on the money. They’re both Christian frauds.
