I should say the “next” game rather than “second” as there were other games played previously in the day.

Let the looting begin! / sarcasm

Pray for the Atlanta cops—they’ll be busy tonight.

I am hearing confirmed reports of some injuries and some serious property damage focused downtown. CNN, Centennial Park, area. Unconfirmed reports of injuries at the GA. Dome. I don’t understand why damage/injury reports are so slow. Concerns me a little, but I still don’t think it was powerful enough to be any where near a disaster, that is unless you were hurt. Then, it’s a disaster.
CDC is several miles northeast of downtown. No reports of damage at CDC.
Apparently, a funnel was spotted by a LEO. It was illuminated by the city lights. Must have been a pretty strange sight, even for downtown Atlanta.
We had an earthquake here a few years ago. Five in the morning. I saw my tile floor undulate in a wave like fashion. Oddest thing I ever saw.

We’re ok here in Cobb, so far, although the storm appears to be picking up again.

Thanks for the correction. I had heard that, and wondered why it didn’t exactly make sense to me, as a FReeper said there was a game going on when it hit. Then with the Hawks game going on at the same time, now I’m all confused! (The Hawks play in the CNN Center, right?)

I sure don’t like blogging when I’m tired...

Thanks for the info.

Prayers up for all the people of Atlanta, and those who are trying to reach them, and those who are worried about them.

And for the FD, police, paramedics, and emergency crews who will be on duty all night.

Then your son will not have sex with any woman until he gets married.

I was terrified!

My godchild, her husband and kids live in Roswell. Anybody that can help out with a glimmer of news from this area?

You are saying the Bible - a book written over a period of 1500 years which is coherent and clear in its revelation of the GOD who is the Creator and Redeemer of mankind, who dealt with real people over centuries....people and locations who have been confirmed as REAL by hundreds of historic documents and archeological evidence -—— presents truth on the par with some stupid theory of aliens which has NO, ZERO. substantiation by historic documents and tons of documentary evidence?

The Bible is the best selling book of all time in all the world in all of history. It is treated as GOD’s OWN WORD by millions of human beings down through the centuries and by the one man of all the world’s “religious” leaders whose GRAVE is empty and never proved to be anything other than a miraculous resurrection after death of this one Jesus Christ.

You do know that no REAL historian would dare claim that Jesus, the “founder” of Christianity (because His full name is Jesus Christ) because there are many non-Biblical reports of the life and death of Jesus in ancient documents of his era and of times within years of His resurrection.

If Jesus Christ indisputably lived and died - just as the Bible reports He did - claimed to be God - which He did many times and in many ways —— then He was either a LIAR, A MENTALLy ILL man, or He WAS and IS the SON of God, just as He claimed.

He cannot be anything else.

Are you saying Jesus was a Liar or a Lunatic, which is it?

ohhhh - thread drift- want to go over to a chat thread?

Since my parents lived in Roswell, I know that area rather well.

Too far North...

The damage appears to be a good 15 miles or more south of Roswell. No damage reports from up there.

The Hawks play in the CNN Center, right?

The Hawks play in the Phillips Arena (the replacement for the Omni) The Arena, the Dome, and CNN are all more or less together (As is the Georgia Congress Center convention hall.

Would appear the possible tornado path was well south of that area.
