Countries urged to see 'true face' of Dalai Lama

By Qin Jize (China Daily)

Updated: 2008-03-26 07:10

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang yesterday again urged the international community to see the Dalai Lama's "true face" and offer no support for his secessionist activities.

Qin made the remarks in response to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's recent call for China to consider a new policy to address the Tibet issue and to start talks with the Dalai Lama.

US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi also visited the Dalai Lama last week.

Qin said the position of just a few countries did not represent that of the international community.

More than 100 nations have expressed their support and understanding of the Chinese government's attitude to protecting the lives and property of its citizens from violent riots, he said.

Qin said the central government's policy toward the Dalai Lama is consistent and explicit, saying it not only listens to what he says but, more importantly, observes what he does.

China yesterday also criticized a British newspaper's report that linked the Beijing Olympics with the Berlin Games of 1936, saying the story is an insult to Chinese citizens and to the people of the world.

A report published in the British newspaper the Sunday Times said China is holding the Olympics for the same reason Adolf Hitler did in 1936, as an opportunity to collect accolades.

Qin said the Beijing Olympics is a magnificent sports meeting, and people from all nations have expressed their wishes to use it as an opportunity to enhance global understanding, friendship and cooperation.

"The Olympic torch symbolizes humankind's noble ideals and beautiful aspirations," Qin said.

" It also casts light on the gloomy mentality of some people, which will help the common people see their true face," he said.

"The Beijing Olympic Games must be a success with all the efforts made by the people of the

That's a real laffer. He was black and white about communism and core conservative values.

Your conservative values but not mine.

Please, go find some quant tapas in your beloved peaceful Spanish countryside and go discuss this with the patrons there. They will fall for your nonsense. All you are doing is annoying us with your nonsensical hypocritical idiocy.

I'll take your advice about the tapas but almost no one falls for my nonsensical hypocritical idiocy. Not even my wife.

he was pitch black in his opposition to communism and his desire to end it. Most of the establishment at the time thought communism was either inevitable or should be appeased. Few thought it could be halted in our lifetimes.

I tend to strongly with this statement.

You really just are spewing nonsense. Best to stop digging that hole you are in any deeper.

I respect your opinion.

Osama Bin Laden means nothing to me but he means a lot to you and so that's why I stated what I stated.

Your revisionist post gets 5 Pinocchios (the max. possible score), ChiCom.

I really never wanted to be the best at any one thing in life but I wanted to be average at many, many things and connect to all people. But at least I know I'm one of the best ChiCom's alive.

Run away now, Bin Laden lover. Go listen to another Jeremiah Wright sermon and we can discuss another aspect of your hatred of America after you finish.

Here’s one insight about local black America and I wrote another one about analysing black America but I can’t seem to find it. You’ll have many problems in the future thanks to many Jeremiah Wrights at many levels. The same can be said of Tibetans and the Dalai Lama.

Translation: You’ve got nothing so you’ll just continue with childish retorts.

Translation: I can't rebut and have nothing so this is my childish retort.

Kipita is long lost out there somewhere, but then again, so are you. It’s quite humorous that you would have the audacity to tell someone else they have no idea what they’re talking about.

Why? Because you think you know it all? Very childish. You can't even make up your mind whether kipita made a better argument or I did. Obviously you can't refute me on the substance of my reply to kipita.

My response was directed at Tigerseye. I hadn't read any of kipita's comments before-hand and nor am I familiar with this fella.

That gives a clear illumination of your idea of scholastic methodology. Respond first then go back and study the material.

I am however familiar with TigersEye's M.O. and his self-proclaimed expertise on all things Tibetan.

So far you have been steadfastly unwilling to give and cites for your claims but I will try again. Show one post, with a live link, where I made that claim. I have only spoken of the things I do know and what I told kipita is correct. Tibetan Buddhism is not an "enforced religion."

The Wikipedia comment was in reference to one of his previous responses suggesting that Wikipedia was something only he knew about.

That isn't true. Now you are making things up out of whole cloth. I said only that you had previously used About.com, which gives no source references, in a similar argument a few days ago and I countered with a very highly sourced document from Wikipedia. I was only pointing out the humor in you now using it as your reference.

What is really a hoot is that he claims to be a Black American, born in New Orleans, living in Spain and disdains the culture of victimhood (my description since his is a paragraph long) but turns around and throws down the victim card naming several leftist victim groups with Osama bin Laden and Mallomar GadDaffy Duck thrown in for good measure.

You are dishonest and a liar.

You must have known me when I frequented night clubs in my youth. I swear I've changed. Really!

This is my last post to you on this thread.

I know I've received many cold slaps on the face on Sunday morning saying "I will never talk to you again".

ChiCom pedophile Chairman Mao

Now that's the truth. Not only was he a pedophile but he also had VD big time and continued with molesting children. My ex-boss (comment #22) told me about this.

Yeah, you go with that. It's your story, you can tell it anyway you like. I have better things to do with my time than engaging in pissing contests with a self-proclaimed know-it-all with no personal experience inside of the country he claims to have so much knowledge about.

Better luck to ya.

But the Dalai Lama has said that he’s half Buddist/half Communist.

Site a source in context for that statement. You might also explain why his government in exile has drawn up outlines for a democratic government for the unlikely possibility that Tibet might someday have some self-determination. He must not be "strongly enforcing" his secular views the way he does his "religious" rule. lol

So, having nothing, you have "run out of wind" as you accused me of previously? lol

I guess you can only keep cut-n-pasting the same insults and hollow claims of victory so long.

Site a source in context for that statement.

Why don't you go to Google and input "half buddist half marxist" and read from all of the various ChiCom sources.

.....and after reading these sources then maybe you will realize that he wants to continue the Buddist welfare system. That's why I made comment #4 without getting into to much detail about "semi-classified" information.

It took you an awfully long time to get bored with it. Somehow that doesn't sound very credible. I'm still pretty fascinated with your insane behavior. I think I found a very good description of it on another thread. I'm sure you will recognize yourself in this...

Dr. Marten style.
