“Why dont you just go ahead and make a Day in the Life thread for him? I didnt know there was a block on negative comments on the DITL threads for President Bush. I just thought people werent using that thread to vent their problems with him.”
Speaking for myself, I have no problem steering clear of DITL threads for Sen. McCain. But it’s Jim Rob’s website and his mods. Whether to set aside the bandwidth and enforce a no-criticism policy on those threads is his call. He could set up a bug zapper thread if he wanted. It’s his website.
You might want to be careful what you wish for. The idea of a leading conservative website setting aside threads where conservatives can’t criticize the GOP nominee for President will be viewed with no small amount of irony. If not outright mirth.
There, fixed it.
Well, I decided I could not commit myself to doing it on a daily basis, but I might do a Week in the Life Thread if Jim approved.
This would hardly abridge anyone’s free speech since people manage to get anti-McCain comments on at least every other thread that is posted on FR.
Probably even on the doggie threads. i.e. either McCain is mean to his dog, or McCain doesn’t even have the decency to have a dog.
I know a lot of people on this site disagree with the President or don’t like him, but we do have the Day in the Life Thread where those people are discouraged (or outright forbidden) to come and disrupt.
If you can’t bear the thought of one thread where you can’t post your dislike, it’s pretty pathetic.
But it would be up to Jim and I have not contacted him about it yet.
