I am probably the only person I know personally, including some that I know served in the military, that could produce a DD-214 without having to order a copy from the Department of Defense.Well, we don't "know" each other, but now there's two of us :)

Well, we don't "know" each other, but now there's two of us. Me three. I have copies tucked away on the advice of my late Dad, who lost his service records in a notorious DoD fire. That one was ugly.

That DD214 usually disappeared in the application to buy a house under an FHA insured mortgage.
