You will be forgiven for not knowing the average global temperature has fallen nearly 1 F since 1998 while greenhouse-gas emissions were increasing. In fact, the decline in the last year was the steepest in recorded history (since 1880) and came as the latest Solar Grand Maximum cycle, a 70-year period in which the sun was hotter and more active, was ending. But the notion the earth's climate and the sun's varying intensity somehow are connected is heresy to warmists, so their acolytes in the media suppress such revelations.
Could it be this cooling motivated Al Gore to launch his $300 million ad campaign to demand further draconian measures to fix a climate crisis that doesn't exist? Think about it: If a consensus exists among scientists that mankind is causing earth to overheat, and if warming "deniers" are as he says a "tiny, tiny minority," why must he spend $300 million to try to convert people to an apocalyptic vision he claims they already share? And if he is putting up just $2.7 million, where's he getting the other $297.3 million? He isn't saying, but is it safe to assume his anonymous backers, like him, will become very rich if the laws and policies he advocates are enacted?
Yes, says Lord Christopher Monckton, who was a policy adviser to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher: "Polls reveal that voters worldwide, bored with wolf-crying scientists, see 'global warming' as just another pretext for more tax, regulation and empire-building. So the tiny clique of politicized scientists driving the scare are desperate to revive fear of doom. Otherwise, the multibillion-dollar climate-change industry is headed straight down the pan." That's why they resort to scaremongering about melting ice caps and glaciers, rising sea levels, declining polar bear populations — all "(b)lood-curdling, but false."
But Mr. Gore's continued estrangement from the truth has not deterred Barack Obama from pledging if elected president to consider him for a cabinet position. How about propaganda minister? Internet Al would make a great Joseph Gorebbels.

Gee, did the warmists KNOW we were in a Grand Maximum? Did they capitalize on increased solar activity? Did they calculate that the lag in terrestial warming would cover their butts, allowing them to take credit when the Maxima ended? Did the pending (Grand) Minima take them by surprise?

Really how arrogant do you have to be to even think for a second that you can control the climate? I’m all for keeping the enviroment clean but as for Mother Nature she’ll always do whatever the h-** she wants to do.
One of Al’s Branch Algorians...David Hathaway of NASA fame has predicted the onset of Solar Cycle 24 to begin this month. If you go to their charts you will see for the first time, there are TWO OFFICIAL predictions for the strength of Solar Cycle 24. Hathaway is in the very strong cycle crowd and his prediciton is cycle 24 sunspots will start to rapidly increase in number and frequency, starting in April 2008. If you go to solarcycle24.com, you will learn only ONE cycle 24 sunspot has been identified, and that was in Dec. 2006. Since then the only spots have been cycle 23 spots, and currently the sun is BLANK. In three weeks and beyond, if current trends continue, one of the prime AGW advocates will see his prediction proven wrong, and thus his credibilty on AGW will be harmed as well.
If solar cycle does not start fairly soon, we are more likely to see DRAMATIC cooling in the future, rather than warming. And BTW, the CO2 monitoring station in Hawaii is showing CO2 levels going DOWN the last few months. Reason-———A cooler ocean absorbs MORE CO2, thus lowering the level in the atmosphere.
Bump since that fact needs to be restated over and over until it starts getting through thick skulls.
While I dread the prospect of a cooling climate, it would warm my heart to no end to see these AWG hustlers like Gore shamed into obscurity and become the butt of jokes for the rest of their lives.

Time for the Global Warming idiots to change their mantra from Global Warming to Global Climate Change.
ANYTHING to take something as unpredictable and ever changing as climate and weather and make it a fault of humankind to transfer wealth.
As I’ve said on other AGW threads, I think the new Sunspot minimum should be named the Al Gore Minimum. I’d love to see that albatross hung around his neck!
My hubby, SirKit, has been watching the sunspot map since the beginning of January. There have been precious few sunspots; should we be surprised at the extension of winter in the Northern Hemisphere?
I want some of that Global Warming for tomorrow!! It's going to be COLD at the Capital!
It's been weighing on my smiley attitude today....
I'm still toting a "Chin up Bucko'" attitude and haven't changed my Saturday plan's.
I'm rested now after coming back home to Minnesota and am regaining my resolve to be at the Capital!
As for the weather, think "Climate Change" NOT "Global Warming" for it's a much broader title making it a better nonsensical mantra for property transfer via agenda.
That's why we have RINO's.
They are the brains of the democrat's to help promote the taking of personal freedoms via a liberal agenda.

I would rather concentrate on the warming idea...especially since the activities are outside! ; ) Though I do understand the need to change the terminology to Global Climate Change so it encomapasses all possible weather related outcomes :)
