DC Madam commits suicide in Tarpon Springs

TARPON SPRINGS - Police were called to the home of DC Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey's mother on Thursday to investigate her apparent suicide.

Police have confirmed that the dead person is Palfrey who was 52.

Palfrey was dubbed "The DC Madam" by the national media after her arrest for allegedly running an upscale call girl ring in the nation's capitol.

Her civil case was the last known legal proceeding that could have resulted in Sen. Vitter being called as a witness. There was no immediate comment Thursday from Vitter’s office.

I’m not a big conspiracy person, but I AM a woman, and for the life of me — I cannot fathom how a woman like this would kill herself by hanging in a shed for her own mother to find her. Women do pills, not hanging. Even a gun would be much quicker, but isn’t it rare to have a woman kill herself this way?

I just cannot wrap my brain around it yet.
