Is it Mervyn’s or Penney’s?

Mervyns is one I have already quit over a year ago. This time was Bealls. Penneys hasn't been completely taken over yet, but I'm sure it won't be long.

If you clicked through to read the entire article, there was a small map that showed where the California emigrees are migrating to.

The four top states are Arizona, Florida, Nevada, and Idaho.

I’d have to say that of these, 2 are horrendously bad choices, and show little foresight:

Arizona - destined to become a part of “emerging Atzlan” within the next 20-25 years (or sooner). It simply “won’t be America” any more, even if AZ remains a state (I seriously contend that by the end of the century, Atzlan _won’t_ remain a part of the United States, if the country still even exists as a nation by then).

Florida - “multicultural, USA”, FL is a state that will fast lose its livability and cultural identity in the coming years.

Of the other two, I wouldn’t consider Nevada to be that great a choice. It’s tipping to the blue side of things, and will be a solidly-blue state in years to come. That means higher taxes, more crime, and less personal freedom.

Only Idaho is a good move, in my opinion. Hopefully, it’s mostly the “Euro-Californians” who are migrating there, and hopefully, too, they are of a slightly more conservative bent than most.

This is the most liberal state I have been stationed in throughout my 24 years in the Navy. I pay over $9000 a year in property taxes on a $365,000 house.....insane! Florida was half of that (Just moved from Jacksonville). I have never seen a city cop (I live in Corpus) and the city services are horrible. The taxes and fees are punishing here. Plus, I get the extra benefit of feeling like I am back in a third world hell-hole.

It's the area of Texas you are in, not all of the state is like that. However, the mexican baby factory is everywhere. And as more libs are elected to state office, the worse it gets.

YUP, the property taxes are an outrage; and no income tax to offset the federal burden. Houston as well, now referred to as “Houston CWOC”, or Houston City without Cops.

It’ll only get worse; that’s why I bought a sombrero and live in a $60,000.00 house 20 years ago and beat the taxes by reporting a cracked slab that keeps the valuation down to $60,000.00.

My guess is (and no insult intended to you as military), that in 50 years, if they wanted to, the Mexican Army could roll up here and the U.S. Feds wouldn’t even respond.

Una Mas Cerveza por favor.

BTW, wanted to mention that in order to beat the entirety of the broken system many of our friends and co-workers are taking early retirement, (at ages 55-62), in Mexico itself. There are great health insurance programs and the cost of living is about 1/4 what it is here. Large hospitals and clinics with doctors trained at the UT Medical school are available and pharmaceuticals are 1/10 what they are here. Best of all..........very few “Democrats” down there to screw things up.

Well, I think we’ll hang tough here in CA
And, maybe just maybe there’s another RR in the wings to turn this state around.
Aside from SF & LA; most of the state is habitable...
we just need to get rid of the “undesirables” and start enforcing the law around here!

If the Feds would do their job, secure the borders and deport the illegals and foreigners incarcerated in our state and federal prisons; we could begin to clean up this mess!!!

I mean no personal disrespect, but assuming that you’re a Euro-American, you have about as much of a chance of all that happening in California, as the Jews had in Germany in 1933.

The smart ones saw the future and escaped.

What happened to those who chose to remain behind?

(Hint: ain’t no more Reagans comin’ out of California in our lifetimes!)

“as the Jews had in Germany in 1933.”

no disrespect taken...BUT the HUGE difference in me and the millions of conservative, law abiding Californians and the “Jews in Germany in 1933” is that we are ARMED. And the registered “I” & “GOP” can turn this mess around at the polls because conservatives are giving birth to conservatives by the thousands while the Left is aborting their potential offspring.

“ain’t no more Reagans comin’ out of California in our lifetimes”

You obviously don’t know much about Californians

We left in 2005, because we were heartbroken to see what had happened to our once-tidy and wonderfully liveable neighborhood. It had turned into little Tijuana.

Well, there are millions of us who have chosen to “stay & fight”

We Marines don’t like showing our backside to the enemy. LOL

We’ve destroyed Calif. Now on to Colorado to do the same!

No doubt. And I am fed up with it.

My son-in-law is stationed at Ft Hood. My daughter and he hate being stuck there.

Last time I went shopping the cashier and packer talked to each other in spanish the whole time I stood there. I got their names from their name tags, came home and contacted corporate via email. A week later I received an apology from the local store and a $50.00 gift certificate. They further explained that during hiring routine they are instructed not to speak spainish to each other while working. I don't know what happened to them, but I don't see them in the store any longer.

Wow, that’s great. I also came home and sent off an e-mail to corp. office, I haven’t heard a word yet. I was told a while back by another employee there that corp. pays close attention to feedback. We’ll see.

Okay, Jeff. I'm not as smart as you.

It doesn't bother me. There will always be people who are smarter--more talented--richer--whatever. That's fine.

But...I am impressed.
