Boomers leaving Golden State(Hispanics going to TX)
Mercury News ^ | 05/01/2008 | Mike Swift

California may be loosening its grip on two groups that helped define the Golden State during the 20th century: predominantly white baby boomers, who are now approaching retirement age, and Hispanics.

New U.S. Census Bureau data being released today shows the state's white population is shrinking - particularly in the Bay Area. From 2000 to 2006, the San Jose and San Francisco metropolitan areas saw their white population decline by more than 200,000 people, trailing only the New York City metropolitan area.

Meanwhile, Texas has replaced California as the leader in the nation's Hispanic growth surge. California is still adding Hispanics - but the growth of that population in Texas from 2006 to 2007 outstripped California's by more than 40,000.

Yep, here in West Texas it's 52% hispanics and 48% the rest of us and every hispanic woman of child bearing age is either pregnant or carrying baby/small child around.

I went to one of my favorite stores this week and all the clerks were Mexican, one spoke almost no English and they only speak to each other in spanish. Needless to say, I sent off a heated letter to the corp. office (like that will do any good, but I felt better). This may be another store I have to add to my list where I won't go any more.

I was born and raised in Texas; I’m a 4th generation Texan; I’d rather see Texas absorbed into Mexico than into the racist, anti-white, pro-reparations African Union that the Southern U.S. has become and I’d prefer it over rule of slimy “white” liberals from California. Truthfully though, I don’t think most of the MexiTexans want any part of Mexico either which means the best solution would be for Texas to secede from the U.S. before it takes us down with it both economically and culturally, (if you can call the nation of OMFG T.V. and Grand Theft Auto 4 a “culture”).

You know you're in trouble when the local McDonald's sells "Jappy" Meals with e-shakes.

Gay's aren't good for the population.

S.F. Has really gone downhill over the last few years. It used to be quite pleasant.

Now, the last 2 times I’ve been there for business, it is a cesspool. People urinating on the sidewalk, etc.

I got panhandled 4 times walking 1 block.
Another time, I was getting out of a cab & was waiting for my change from the driver & a bum stood right there, just outside of the cab & asked me for the change.

I loath going there for work now.

The Middle of Nowhere.

In Flyover Country there are wide open spaces and privacy AND access to everything the big cities offer.

My wife and I have no curtains or shutters on the windows. I'm so accustomed to going outside naked that I have to watch it when I do venture into the cities.

When I lived in the San Francisco area, I said to my wife: "I can get anything in the world I want here, but it will take me all day (fighting traffic) to go and get it." Here in the sticks, I can get anything in the world I want, via the internet et al., and I can relax and breathe the fresh air while it comes to me. If I want to go to a museum or concert, the big cities are close by in time.

And out here in the wilderness, many sophisticated people are close at hand and also available by telephone or internet, as here on FreeRepublic.

Everybody is educated and sophisticated in the Information Age. The man who comes to fix the sink watched The Dinosaur Special on TV and listened to the Metropolitan Opera broadcast of The Daughter of the Regiment last Saturday.

Furthermore, out here in Nowhere, it's easier to avoid decadent nutcase Leftists and their obnoxious slavery to Groupthink--which is a REAL ADVANTAGE!

I have to tell you, I really hate this state. I am in the military stationed at NAS Kingsville (South Texas). This is the most liberal state I have been stationed in throughout my 24 years in the Navy. I pay over $9000 a year in property taxes on a $365,000 house.....insane! Florida was half of that (Just moved from Jacksonville). I have never seen a city cop (I live in Corpus) and the city services are horrible. The taxes and fees are punishing here. Plus, I get the extra benefit of feeling like I am back in a third world hell-hole. I did some volunteer work at the Kleberg county hospital and had to quit doing it because I was so disgusted with the system. It was a Mexican anchor baby factory. These non-American, zero English speaking children (young teenage Mexicans) would pump out babies and leave the hospital with loads of loot....car seats, mountains of diapers, etc......free of charge. We had one of our children here and they charged us for a single aspirin (like $5). Wake up retards (liberals), there will not be a country left in about a decade!

Here in N TX, in my community, we have a section of town that is very quickly changing to Hispanic. It has always been a very nice upscale area, and about two months ago a car-loan-title place, with signs in Spanish, opened up in a former flower shop. In just two months I am seeing other follow.

What store YROT? Is it Mervyn’s or Penney’s? LOL.

I’ve noticed same about both of them here in San Diego county.

I feel so disenfranchised.
