Yankee Fan Go Home
Primetime Politics ^ | May 8, 2008 | George Will

Hillary Clinton, 60, Illinois native and Arkansas lawyer, became, retroactively, a lifelong Yankee fan at age 52 when, shopping for a U.S. Senate seat, she adopted New York state as home sweet home. She may think, or at least would argue, that when she was 12 her Yankees really won the 1960 World Series, by standards of “fairness,” because they trounced the Pirates in runs scored, 55-27, over seven games, so there.

Unfortunately, baseball’s rules—pesky nuisances, rules—say it matters how runs are distributed during a World Series. The Pirates won four games, which is the point of the exercise, by a total margin of seven runs, while the Yankees were winning three by a total of 35 runs. You can look it up.

Obama is the Democrats’ Reagan

That's is quite poignant. What a disaster if Obomba wins, and his winning is not based on logic or pragmatism, but sheer bows to the Obamessiah.

G Will is always good for the intelligent baseball analogy. His statement about Obama being the Democrat's Reagan left out an important comparison. Its not just the adulation factor, its the race factor. The majority of guilty liberals in this country simply want to elect a black man. He's the second one to come across as palatable. Colin Powell declined the offer back in 1996.

I used the same baseball analogy in the 2000 election when Gore was trying to steal the election, and folks inside my office were agreeing with him that popular vote should be the deciding factor.

Greatest World Series ever. “They broke all the records and we won the game,” said Pirate outfielder Gino Cimoli, who started the eighth inning rally that put the Bucs ahead in Game 7. The Yankees tied the game in the top of the ninth, before Bill Mazeroski put it away with his famous walk-off home run in the bottom of the inning.
