McCain planning climate change tour

Sen. John McCain really does want to tempt the Republican base. ...

We've gotten our hands on an advanced transcript of this weekend's "The Chris Matthews Show" on NBC and the British Broadcasting Corporation's Katty Kay offered this nugget during the show's "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" segment:

"John McCain is going to be doing more of these themed tours of America, and one of them is going to be on energy and global climate change. It could get him into trouble with Republicans, of course, and with the base, who don't think there is much climate change going on, but it is something that he's very passionate about and he's going to be talking about it."

> The McCain 2008 campaign is just one long, slow, sad senior moment, isn’t it...? ;)

I think Bob Dole was more spry than Juan.

I like your idea....and, I’m thinking we need to start a thread/group that comes up with SPEECH IDEAS/STATEMENTS for McCain.....I believe he backed away from the N. Carolina Republican Party who were running that anti-Obama ad with Rev Wright BECAUSE he got lots of emails/calls from us out here in the hinterlands.....we need to PUT THE PRESSURE ON NOW!

You nailed it. McCain has always been at his very best a mediocre performer except when utilizing the Vietnam Guilt Trip. The McInsaniacs always try to pull POW Guilt trip to convince us he is owed the Presidency.

They will. Count how many on FR are willing to vote for the guy because he has an R.

I thought conservatives were supposed to be smart. This election has been a real shock to me.

re: I will only contribute directly to individual Republican house and senate candidates.)))
Actually, I'm hoping for some activist movement here on Fr accumulating a list of conservative House members from all over the country for us to send the donations to that we would have otherwise sent the GOP and the presidential "pick"--
JIM'S LIST (like Emily's list)

I think this is a great idea! I'm in a small state (2 senators, 1 rep)so its pretty easy for me to know who to donate to locally. However, aside from that group of Iraq/Afghan vets running for offices, I don't have a clue of who needs (or deserves!)help.

He's just an example of what we CAN do so we can get our juices (and our small donations) going. My attitude is that I have been disenfranchised by the RNC and I have no dog in the presidential hunt. But the best hopes for conservativism is really in the House of Reps, and we can work to put a few effective reps in.

I have REFUSED to give to the RNC for a number of years....give only to those candidates I WANT to see succeed. We’re moving to Oregon soon, so I’ll have to check out the possibilities there. I still think your idea is a good one.

Other than Duncan Hunter, there’s only one other politician I’ve donated to.

And he’s a Freeper! http://www.armorforcongress.com/

Hey John, any hope you have of convincing Conservatives to vote for you goes farther down the drain with each passing day.

You couldn't even cow tote for a little while?

You suck.

We’re moving to Oregon soon,

I hope Eastern Oregon!

Western Oregon is about as bad as Western Washington!

“Could possibly be his senility is finally too advanced to hide anymore.”

I think that it is. Often, just doesn’t come across as being all there.

When the Dems have finally chosen their nominee, McCain will be stomped into a greasy spot on the floor by his “friends” in the MSM. He won’t even understand what happened to him.

The press “loved” him because he consistently spit on conservatives, but soon he will be the enemy and he will be savaged.

His bumbling, incoherent speech and “senior moments” will give them all the ammunition they need.

Me, too. National party gets every single begging letter back with a letter from me telling why they won’t get a nickel.

Now I want to see an movement get started to DENY McVAIN THE NOMINATION !

IT CAN BE DONE !

Medical grounds? (Section 8? He’s obviously nuts)!

Some trumped-up scandal?

ANYTHING, but for God’s sake get this guy out of my party!

Sorry....I’m voting McCain (notice I didn’t say FOR?)....I will NOT bastardize things worse than they are....I fear for the Supreme Court if a Dem is elected. That’s the chances I am taking.

Odds are you are right that it’s all a subterfuge, and nothing will really happen under his incumbency. Otherwise, who in hell is giving him advice? Who’s NOT telling him we’re into global cooling for the last 10 years? Is he just being manipulated in believing this crud? Maybe he never reads up on the science himself. I’d really like to know who’s his climate advisor.

“Frankly, he just is not all that bright or talented.”

Yep, and it shows. He will be absolutely destroyed once the focus is on him. His “buddies” in the MSM will chew him up and spit him out.
