n a hypothetical matchup between Clinton and McCain, the New York senator led the Arizonan by 47% to 38%, with 11% saying they were undecided.
And in a contest between Obama and McCain, the poll gave the Illinois senator a 46% to 40% lead over the Republican, with 9% undecided. The nationwide poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
The results represent a slight shift from a Times/Bloomberg poll in February, in which McCain led Clinton by 6 points, and Obama by 2 points, within the poll's margin of error. The direction has now changed in favor of the Democrats.

I'm starting to be concerned, since four polls released today (Gallup, Rasmussen, this Bloomberg poll and a Diageo/Hotline poll) all have McCain losing ground against Obama.
With little cash at hand, the media swooning over Obama, and many conservatives willing to stay home, I see our chances very grim.
He’s a good speaker. Asking those who would or have voted for him to name a specific policy (except the crossover gremlins. ;) is next to impossible. He is very dangerous to this country. In a very literal sense.
Liberals, no doubt, have a poll showing Osama Bin Laden winning POTUS. Obama’s background hasn’t been exposed yet and throw in his radical, vile wife that hates America.
Too bad for Obama that the electoral college, and not polls determine who is the next president.
McCain will win the states he needs to win.
Obama however, will do extremely well in states like New York, California, Massachusetts, and Illinois.

This is the response letter I wrote to a fund raising letter received from the McCain campaign today:
“May 9. 2008
Dear Senator McCain:
I am so pleased to hear that you have lived a fulfilling life. So have I, thanks be to God, and his loving goodness.
I’ve been privileged to live in a free country, with a Constitution inspired by God and based on Biblical principles by men dedicated to the healthy endurance of our great sovereign nation.
I believe in LEGAL immigration, and the enforcement of laws on the books, including those of NO AMNESTY FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS (invaders). I believe in the building of Duncan Hunter’s double border fence, and the exoneration of Ramos and Compean, who are being held unjustly for doing their jobs.
As a life long Republican, I do not go along with left wing liberal Democrats, and would have preferred you’d adhered to Republican standards rather than “reaching across the aisle”. to compromise them. Unfortunately there is no longer a two party system in my country. And that can only spell tyranny.
I do not consider you a Conservative due to McCain-Feingold, which helped to sink my candidate in this presidential race; your stance on illegal aliens, and your voting record in the Senate.
Having worked diligently on a volunteer .basis, and contributed the near limit for and to a truely great statesman, Rep. Duncan Hunter, who bowed out of the race January 19 to my great dismay. I have exhausted funds, and would not be able to help you financially even if I chose to.
To my way of thinking you have little to offer the country than Clinton or Obama do. I voted for the lesser of two evils twice this century, and do not intend to do it again. When and if the Republican Party comes to terms with it’s former conservative base, I will return. Until it does, I no longer call myself a Republican, but a Conservative. I will vote the person, not the party, I am not alone. Judging by your recent actions, I doubt that will cause you distress..
I weep for my precious country.
Sincerely yours,”
I have no choice but to write someone in this time around.
McCains lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union is 83, comparable to Thompsons 86. It is worth noting that the ACU does not rate voting records on how they comport with the Constitution, but how they comport with contemporaneous Republican mandates which are not always one and the same.
He has been ranked favorably by other conservative organizations: National Federation of Independent Business 100 percent; Concerned Women for America 100 percent; Family Research Council 100 percent; National Tax Limitation Committee 94 percent; Citizens Against Government Waste 91 percent; and the National Taxpayers Union 88 percent.
C+ rating from the National Rifle Association.
Citizens Against Government Waste
2008 Congressional Pig Book Member List
Clinton 296.2 million dollars in pork
Obama 97.4 million dollars in pork
McCain 0.0 NONE
Heartfelt and to the point. If I may ask a question. How many Presidential elections do you get to vote for your perfect candidate? Have you sat out in the past or voted for the lesser of two evils.
Oh yeah!
After watching McCain on Oreilly last night I simply can NOT vote for him. I wished Bill asked him if gas was $10 per gallon would he still object to drilling ANWR. Im not even bothering to watch the 2nd half of the interview tonight.
You said what I am feeling so much more eloquently than I could have. These are sad times for conservatives.
This is because McCain has lately been emphasizing his liberal positions on immigration and CO2 emissions.
LA Times is losing money hand over fist, but they can run a legit poll? Wow, I am impressed...NOT!
I am not convinced that McCain can win.......he’s not Black, he might continue to defend our country and our WOT, he doesn’t hate America and he is getting up there in age.
I fear that Obama can pull this act off.
I wonder how the questions were formed.
>How many Presidential elections do you get to vote for your perfect candidate? Have you sat out in the past or voted for the lesser of two evils.<
In 64, Johnson’s ad with the small child sitting on a flowery hill with an atomic mushroom cloud going up behind her got to me. I had three small girls at the time, and so I couldn’t vote for Goldwater then, I am very sad to say today. Then in globalist GHWB’s second run I worked for and wrote in Pat Buchanan. I did hold my nose and vote for GWB twice this century.
But I worked hard for all the other Republican Presidential candidates since 1952. Reagan was the most perfect in my book. :)
The unconditional withdrawal from Iraq that's the center of Obama's campaign would be unprecedented...unlike the withdrawal from Vietnam, it would be a much clearer surrender. This and BHO's elitist values will greatly damage his chances.
I'm sure that some conservatives will vote for another candidate or stay at home due to questions about Sen. McCain. On the other hand, I'm convinced that most of the anti-McCain ranters in conservative circles are barely-concealed Obamacans.
I know your question wasn't directed to me, but since I feel the same way - I have voted in every election since I was eligible to vote 34 years ago. I have NEVER gotten to vote for my "perfect" candidate! Heck, I've never even met a perfect person, including my husband of 34 years.
If you're lucky, you get to vote for a candidate that you can agree with 75 or 80% of the time. Too many times in the last 10 years I've had to hold my nose & vote for the lesser of two evils. It's getting worse every year.
John McCain - I might be with 20 to 25% - MAYBE. It is actually dropping every day that I hear something else stupid he has said. It's almost like he is "daring" me to vote for him! Like - he is saying, "Where else are you going to go - you stupid conservatives! - I KNOW you won't vote for Obama!"
Well, I'm not a Republican anymore - so frankly I could care less what happens to the party - but I DO care what happens to my country & I can no longer vote for these liberals with an (R) next to their names. Everytime I eat the slop they throw at me, the next time I get even worse slop! I'm not eating it anymore.
I hate the thought of what we're going to have to go through the next 4 or 8 years - but it won't be the fault of voters who couldn't bring themselves to vote for a horrible, unstable, conservative-hater like John McCain, who is determined to institute amnesty & begs for the approval of creeps like Teddy Kennedy.
No. Don't blame the voters - blame the bad, bad candidate that couldn't win on his own merit.
